We spotted this restaurant while strolling through the quieter streets in the walls of Diocletians palace. The waiter was really friendly telling us about some popular dishes so we came back for dinner. It was quiet when we arrived but filled out by the end of dinner. We had the Soparnik as a starter which was recommended by the waiter (it’s a popular local dish) and this was delicious! For mains we had the Steak with Roquefort sauce and Pašticada. Both dishes were very tasty, and I am very fussy with my Paštidada’s being a Croatian. We then finished off with the chocolate lava cake, which also was tasty. The only suggestion I would have is if they had a scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with it, just to cool down on such a hot day. The waiter Marko was a really friendly, nice and chatty guy. He really livened up the evening. Between him and his colleague they had a very busy night. All in all this was a great find and we are happy to have stumbled across it. I think the only disappointing bit is that when we went to pay the card machine apparently had been down all day, so one of us had to go find an ATM to get cash out. It would have been good if we were notified ahead of time. But all I can say is maybe ask if their card machine is working in case you need to get some cash out.

We were lured to this restaurant by a woman who advertised the delicious food and the handsome waiter. We were rather disappointed by the waiter tho. He never answered our questions, he just went off without saying a word. When we paid the bill, he just pointed the card reading device at our faces, again without saying a word. It felt like he was challenged to say as little as possible. Despite everything we gave him a tip and he didn’t even thank us. He only talked as much as necessary which, for a waiter, appeared quite rude. Concerning the food, we were starving and it took a while till we got it. The octopus with grilled vegetables tasted bland so I had to salt it, however it still didn’t taste like much. My friend had the gnocchi with shrimps and truffles however there was only one (1) big shrimp and about 5 very little fellas. Also my other friend had the gnocchi with mushrooms and truffle, and both of them had too much sauce. All in all, we wouldn’t come here again.

Very bad taste after you visit this place. It looks nice at first, food is ok but suddenly when you ask for the bill the owner comes to tell you that only cash payment is possible because they have a tech issue. We didn’t have any cash and we have been advised to walk and find an ATM somewhere…which we refused! I asked why we haven’t been informed upfront. And suddenly the problem disappeared. We have been invited to secretly go inside and pay card!!! I heard the same scenario on the tables around us. The owner didn’t provide us the bill and even he tried to hide the amount which will be withdrawn. Finally we paid a bill with at least 10 euros on top. Ugly tricks played. Do it better next time by advising guests upfront that POS is ‘damaged’. What a pity for such a lovely place!

I wish I could give this restaurant zero stars. My friend and I passed by this place and it was a cute ambiance, good prices for food and we were looking forward to our meal. We ordered a carafe of wine and the server/owner served it and there were 7 or 8 flies in my glass. No big deal, these things happen. I politely requested a glass and was met with such a condescending response saying that it’s common and insinuating that I was a princess for asking for a fresh glass. The carafe and my friends glass also had a few flies and this man was so incredibly rude when we wanted another. He then came back with fresh glasses and was mocking us asking if we thought they were clean enough for us. He then sat with another woman and was laughing and speaking of us so obviously, rolling his eyes etc. We felt so uncomfortable the whole meal, he made us feel so unwelcome and continued to make sarcastic comments at us throughout the dinner. To top it all off my friend found a long hair in her meal. We didn’t even have the nerve to tell him because we were scared of how he would react. We were not given any sort of compensation or even apology for what happened. Overall, worst dining experience I...

First time we went all our group had a lovely experience and really enjoyed the meals which, apart from one, were all fish based. We liked it so much we decided to return next day, partly because the bill came with a 10% discount with it.

However next day just over half of us decided to have meat instead of fish. This combined with the next issue is where they lost 1 star. The meat we had wasn't bad but we have had better meals, of the same thing, in Split. This by itself isn't a massive issue, I would just recommend to have fish to potential goers.

The main problem was the 10% voucher we got yesterday was apparently only for people saying in a specific hotel. The confusion part was how it was worded it was not obvious and not clear about this. The fact we got given it paying the bill again confused us even further as how are we meant to know that? This ended with us not being able to use the voucher and paying full price.

TLDR - Fish is very good, meat is ok but have had better and the voucher is unclear about being only for guests at a...
