Let's start with positives: the location is absolutely amazing. You're within the walls of old town and you can fall out the door in almost any direction and be in a neat little street with fun places to explore and/or eat/drink.

Now the negatives: We reserved a deluxe double room in a (theoretically) 4* hotel based upon verbal description and pictures from their website. The "double" bed consisted of two single beds pushed together and the bedding wasn't even covering both so there was a clear split down the middle which makes you feel separated from your partner (the picture on the website does not demonstrate this separation). Further a number of promised items from the site were not in our room. For example the site states there will be a sofa bed and seating area..our room did not include this. There was a small automan at the end of the bed and a chair in the corner. Other things promised but not present in the room: a room telephone, an iPod dock, bathrobes, slippers, a safe, or coffee machine. There was a mini bar/fridge but the temperature was slightly warmer than room temperature so it was useless. Theoretically there was supposed to be a "landmark view" I guess this is debatable as the wall directly across from our window might technically be a "landmark" but we certainly couldn't see anything else.

Other issues: the showerhead was handheld and had two mounting points, one low and one high. The high mounting point was loose/broken and couldn't hold the showerhead in a position that would actually provide a shower.

To compound matters, when we raised our concerns with the young woman at the desk (I believe her name was Julia) she stated that our room was, indeed, a deluxe room despite the above discrepancy between website description and reality and there was nothing to be done about the issues. She stated she would look into some of the "missing" items (ie Safe etc) and that housekeeping would look at our shower. Despite raising these issues after our first night none of them were addressed or corrected by the time we left after four nights.

I would recommend against booking at this hotel unless you have no other options.

I've attached photos of the actual room so you can see what you're...

I’d leave 0 if I could. I’m just going to tell you what we dealt with, which I’m sure will mean I get the typical “I’m sorry we always strive for customer satisfaction” response. DO NOT BELIEVE IT. We get this is an old hotel situated in the Palace, location was great, beyond that, a dump. Ants in our bed and room, no functioning TV, WiFi doesn’t work, hair ball on the floor after the cleaning people came through, and to top it all off a tub that doesn’t drain. They told us they switched our room on check in, now I’m wondering if they purposely switched us the worst room in the place, is it because we’re American, hope not. We’ve been completely accommodating to the situation, but the tub not being fixed in 4 days is the icing on the cake. ||Front desk are kids that just sit there on their phones; I don’t believe any of them give a rats *ss about the guests. ||Television, was told they’d have to send an outside technician,on the way in after day one was told it was done, nope no television the whole time. Okay, we can deal with that, didn’t mention it again to the front desk, we’ll just resort to news and movies on our iPad. Nope, internet drops every 10 seconds. Was told, “just keep turning it off and on”. Nope, so ok, now we resort to reading books. We’re on holiday, we’ll make it work. Then, we take a shower, tub doesn’t drain. Seriously, after spending a day in the hot sun, on a boat tour, come back to shower, and no drainage. None…Nothing more disgusting than having to shower in your own dirt, plus god knows what came up from that drain. ||Well needless to say, we would not recommend this place to anyone. We’re definitely instructing our travel agent to remove this from her list of place. This is not how guests should be treated, even in an old hotel where you would perhaps expect a few minor issues here and there. These were more than minor, not addressed, and guests for rooms pairs months in advance should not have to deal with these sorts of issues in a reputable establishment, even if it has age and character. My advice, stay the hell...

We were a group of seven from Canada staying at the Jupiter Hotel in Split for four nights in peak season in August, with a confirmed reservation starting on the 16th. After an exhausting 18-hour journey, we were told the hotel had overbooked and didn’t have one of our rooms. They offered to find us another hotel at last-minute rates, which we declined due to exhaustion. Instead, we were told one of the rooms was a "superior" room so we decided to share for the one night. However, it was a cramped room, with 2' between small beds, leaving hardly any space for luggage.||The hotel assured us we wouldn’t be charged for our room on the 16th, and all we had to do was pay all the taxes. We felt that was a fair compromise. The next two nights had no hot water, and the third night had no air conditioning at the peak heat of the year. ||Upon returning home, we discovered we were charged for the shared room on our credit card, contradicting their earlier promise.||After 4 ignored emails over 3 weeks, I finally received a response stating they reserve the right to relocate us without compensation. They claimed that the comment that we wouldn’t be charged for the room was in reference to the room that we didn’t receive.||How ludicrous. Obviously we thought they meant the room we were sharing, because who needs to state they’re not going to charge you for something you didn’t get. And saying all we had to pay for was the taxes is another misleading statement because that made us believe that we were not paying for a room and only the taxes. Terrible misleading communication.||They eventually offered us a 20% discount for a future stay within 12 months because of the hot water and AC situation, which is meaningless since we are not planning a trip back within a year, and if that's the way they treat their customers, why would I return. ||This experience, after paying over €3000 for our group's stay, shows a complete lack of customer service.||In short, avoid this hotel as a reservation...

I must admit, I’m feeling Croatian rudeness fatigue. I haven’t been in one place in Split where stuff isn’t rude, uninterested or grumpy. Firstly, this is not a luxury hotel, by any means. Maybe if you compare it to a backpacker hostel, then yes it’s luxurious. Rooms are so small and cramped, you can barely fit one piece of luggage. In fact just after I checked in, and when I had to go downstairs in reception to get some WiFi signal, I listened to a couple of guests complaining how bad their room was, compared to what they saw when they booked on booking.com. Walls are dirty. WiFi doesn’t practically work on the 3rd floor. If you are lucky you can receive a couple of emails. But that’s how far the WiFi goes. When you tell the staff, they deny there is any issue with the WiFi on the 3rd floor, and tell you it’s your device’s fault. Where on earth was this staff trained? I asked for an iron board, they took a sheet and a pretty dangerous iron (see in my pictures). I must admit they were quite surprised I asked for an iron. When I checked into my room vanity products were not replaced from the previous guests, and were left half used on display. I took a picture of that. I’m not sure how this hotel can have 4 stars. Really have no idea. Location is nice, next to Diocletian palace entrance and the cathedral square. Breakfast is nice, but a vile coffee from an automated coffee machine is poor effort. Skip this hotel.

There is nothing luxurious about this hotel. I, along with other guests, were astounded by the sub par facilities. If a hotel is four stars there is a standard you are used to and expect but unfortunately this was not the case. Breakfast: the breakfast was lacking and basic. There was a lack of hygiene with items left uncovered which would not have been as much of an issue if the nearby door was closed. Flies were hovering over uncovered food which was off putting. You are better off visiting a nearby cafe rather than paying extra for breakfast at the hotel. Rooms: the room was small and basic. The bathroom had a sliding door but nothing to pull it across, making it difficult to open and close. The tap was too big for the sink (which was lower than comfortable) so water spillage was inevitable. The shower was decent. Staff and location: the staff were okay and probably just trying to do the best with what they have. The location is fantastic as you are in the heart of Split with the promenade within walking distance.
