Korta is one of those places that perfectly captures the spirit of Split. Tucked away in the old city, surrounded by stone walls and narrow streets, it gives you that unmistakable sense of history while you dine. Sitting there, you can feel the blend of ancient charm and modern comfort — a rare balance that makes every meal feel like an experience, not just dinner.
The food here was truly impressive. We started with an octopus appetiser served with dried tomatoes and olive oil, and it was a clear 10 out of 10. The octopus was tender and beautifully cooked, not chewy at all, and the olive oil tied everything together perfectly — rich, fragrant, and fresh. The sweetness of the dried tomatoes added just the right contrast to the savoury depth of the dish.
For the main course, I went with the linguine with truffles, and it was everything you’d hope for. The pasta was cooked al dente, the sauce creamy and balanced, and the truffle flavour was present without being overpowering. Every bite was smooth and indulgent — a perfect example of how simplicity, when done right, can be extraordinary.
The Risotto Korta was another standout. The seasoning was spot on, and the combination of smoked mussels with the risotto gave it a unique, almost nostalgic flavour — like a culinary trip down the Adriatic coast. You can taste the sea and its history in every mouthful, as if the dish itself carries the influence of both sides of the Mediterranean.
Service was attentive and professional without being intrusive, and everything flowed at a comfortable pace.
Overall, Konoba Korta delivers on every level — location, food, and atmosphere and it is decently priced. If you want to enjoy a meal surrounded by Split’s ancient walls while tasting dishes that celebrate the region’s flavours, this is the...
Read moreDisappointed. Had fish soup (nice, 30kuna) and two of the local authentic mains (99 kuna each, both EXTREMELY salty but otherwise OK, large portions). The main reasons for the 3 star review are the salty food and the appalling service. We waited 10mins before any of the staff even caught our eye despite us smiling at staff and clearly waiting for one of the many empty tables. Eventually the lady in charge came over and asked us to wait another 5 minutes before she could even tell us if a table was available (restaurant half empty and there was no queue but they likely did have reservations to cater for so we said ok, although we thought they should organise their tables better). 15 minutes later we were about to give up hope when she returned and seated us. Food and drinks came in good time. Halfway through we tried to order more drinks but no staff in sight for over 10mins and when they did return we could not easily attract attention so we eventually gave up. Eventually found someone to ask for the bill and this took another 15mims to arrive. This was a Friday night but they didn't seem that busy so we were disappointed to wait so long. Will try elsewhere next time.
Edit: restaurant has replied below and just to confirm.....yes, we definitely were at this restaurant, we were ignored by staff for ages, there were indeed 3 waiters but they were impossible to find for long periods of time, the food was indeed incredibly salty and there is no way anyone would add more salt to it without being physicallyunwell. Rather than assuming we went to a different restaurant perhaps the restaurant should consider our 3 star review was more...

Again we walked through the beautiful old historic streets to Konaba Korta and we were warmly greeted by a host who seated us at a table for Two to drink I ordered a bottle of local beer 🍺(Pan Am) and my Wife ordered a glass of local red wine 🍷.
To start my Wife ordered Dalmatian Prosciutto which came with bread and a side of Prosciutto pate which was really nice and my Wife really enjoyed her food i ordered the Octopus 🐙 salad which was amazing so many different tastes and textures and the Garlic and Parsley really complimented the Octopus.
For Mains my Wife ordered a Pot of Seafood(Mussels, Prawns) and Polenta(Flavourless Dumpling) and wanted to order the Pestacadia(Slow Cooked Beef in Redwine with Vegetables) which I had on my First Visit in 2022 but unfortunately they no longer served Pestecadi so I opted to a Lamb Shank which came with Palenta(Flavourless Dumpling) and a side ordered of Fries.
