We - a group of 4 adults and 3 kids - did not have a good experience at this restaurant.
It started with the gluten free options as one person of our group has celiac disease. As there is no allergen information in the menu, the waiter recommended a dish which actually had gluten in it - breaded zucchini and Ponzu sauce (contains soy sauce with wheat).
He recognized the error with the breaded zucchini after we ordered it and offered to leave it out - there was unfortunately no option to just get for example grilled zucchini, as the breaded one was prepared already. Unfortunately, he missed the soy sauce in the Ponzu sauce which we found out just in time and then canceled the order of this dish and opted for a risotto instead.
Due all this commotion the waiter accidentally cancelled my dish and after everyone else at our table ate, I still had to wait another "2 minutes" - which turned into 20-30 minutes - for mine to arrive. He of course apologized for everything, but there was no "compensation" in form of a drink or coffee which better restaurants offer when something like this happens.
Also, the waiter seemed not to care about us too much, as he never asked for a second round of drinks or desserts. The restaurant was not packed at the time we were there so too much work could not have been the reason - maybe we were too "difficult".
The quality of the food was also varying: The breaded chicken and fries for the kids were very good, the burger seemed to be tasty as well. However, the risotto was way to mushy and contained too much liquid. And as for the tuna dish with the Ponzu sauce two of us had: The first one which arrived had overcooked, dry tuna and the second one (mine) was perfect - "glassy" tuna which melted on the tongue.
Last but not least, the atmosphere: The location and decoration of the restaurant is great, however the music was...
Read moreMy friends and I visited Zadar to watch the sunset and Morske orgulje. It started raining when we arrived, so around 5 p.m., I searched for a nearby restaurant on Google to have dinner and take shelter from the rain. Upon entering the restaurant, the waiter saw me but didn't come over right away, so I greeted him first before he approached me. I asked if there was a table for five. He asked, “For dining?” I said yes, and he said he’d check. After a while, he came back and told me that there were no large tables for five. I asked if there were two smaller tables available so we could split up and sit separately. He said no, all the tables were reserved. At this point, I was already confused. If everything was reserved, what exactly did he need to check? I was ready to leave, so I stood at the entrance, checking Google for other nearby restaurants. Just then, six Americans(not sure but they speak American accent) walked in and asked the same waiter if there was a table for six. The waiter asked if they were dining, and they said yes. To my surprise, the waiter began rearranging tables, pushing a two-person and a four-person table together to accommodate them. I asked why they could get a table without a reservation, and the waiter replied with, "I don't owe you an explanation. I already told you there are no tables, so why are you still here?" I was furious and opened Google to write a review. What happened next was even more infuriating. After handing the new customers their menus, the waiter came over, pushed me from behind, and shoved me outside, saying rudely, “You should leave here.” It was still raining outside, and I hadn’t even opened my umbrella yet. How rude! I felt completely disrespected! Could the racial discrimination be any more...
Read moreIf you would like to feel like a tourist (in a negative way), Morita is a place for you. Under the cover of a classy place, awaits you a very non proconsumer approach.
In our case there were a few issues:
We wanted to replace a pancetta with a turkey ham which was available in a different dish, finally it was possible but for additional price of 2 euro (at first waiter just told it is possible, later that he has to charge us 1 or 2 euros, in the end told us that 2 euros each) for four thin slices of a regular supermarket taste turkey ham, and as I mentioned, it wasn’t an add on but a replacement for pancetta.
Eggs benedict should have had a liquid yolk, in our case in both portions one of two eggs had a solid yolk.
Pizza bread wet and sticky inside.
Higly bad taste of rose wine, very acidic without any fruity flavour.
In the menu the glass of rose wine had a price of 3,7 euro, while we were charged 5,2 euro, when I asked the waiter about it, he said it was my fault because I just said „rose wine” not „house rose wine” and normally they serve this more expensive one and also currently they are out of the house wine. Of course nothing of it was told me while ordering and also you cannot see it in the...
