I recently had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Kornat in Zadar, and I have to say, it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the delicious food to the exceptional service, everything about our meal was top-notch.
We started with the Lobster with homemade tagliatelle and the Shrimp tempura with Julienne vegetables and ginger, and both dishes were absolutely amazing. The lobster was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with the tender homemade tagliatelle. The shrimp tempura was crispy and flavorful, and the accompanying Julienne vegetables and ginger added a delightful crunch and tanginess to the dish.
For dessert, we indulged in the 'Mille-feuille' and the shell, and once again, we were blown away by the quality and presentation of the dishes. The 'Mille-feuille' was light and flaky, with just the right amount of sweetness, while the shell was rich and decadent, with a deliciously creamy filling.
Throughout our meal, the waiters were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, and provided us with excellent recommendations.
Overall, I would highly recommend Restaurant Kornat to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Zadar. The quality of the food and service is truly outstanding, and it's clear that the staff takes great pride in providing their customers with an unforgettable meal. I can't wait to go back and try more of their...

My partner and I arrived at 19:00 but couldn't get a seat. Therefore, we decided to go on Kornat's website to book a seat for 22:00. At first we were sceptical about the restaurant and it being worth the wait.
As we got to the restaurant at 21:30 it was still full of people, but we still managed to get a good seat. Our waitress, Brankica, served us for the whole night. With her excellent English she described our dishes, wines etc.
Food was incredible. My partner and I shared a seafood starter with drops of puree and real wasabi. Additionally, I had duck for main and my partner had tuna. At last we both had the chocolate mousse. Gorgeous plating and delicious food.
Likewise, we would ask about the view to the massive building Maraska, an old production building across the water from Kornat. Again, our waiter would describe to us the situation with the old building. As we paid our bill, Brankica gave us liquor from Maraska which made the experience very personal.
All in all, the experience was the best we've had in Zadar. Absolutely fantastic place and especially recommended for couples or for fine dining since the vibe is likely fancy. The culinary as well as the experience in general, was way over our expectations. This is affordable luxury at its finest.
Thank you, Kornat, for a...
Read moreI'm sorry, but I really don't get why this restaurant has such a high score. We were there a few days ago. Based on the score on Google and the positive reviews we were really looking forward to it. When we arrived the restaurant was filled with what was clearly a bus load of tourists all having the same meal. After they left it was us and one or two other tables left. The staff was attentive and did their best, and the menu seemed promising enough. We were first served a mouthful of tuna mousse that tasted like tuna straight out of the can. The appetizers were not bad, but also not very interesting. I had mediocre ravioli with prawns and venus shells that had far too much sand in them. The occasional grain is fine, but this was way more than that. The Monkfish medallions I had as my main course were dry and there was too much gnocchi, and it was all drowing in sauce. My husband had lamb confit that sounded great in the menu, but turned out to be a completely tasteless piece of meat, barely seasoned with salt and pepper and served with "potato rolled dough stuffed with prociutto", which was basically a few bits of cured ham stuffed into dry mashed potato. Not great. On the bright side the wine was pretty good. On the not so bright side; when my husband asked for a dry martini they gave him martini bianco with a dash of something brown and bitter to make it a "dry martini"...
We went somewhere else for coffee and desert. Will not be going...
