20:30 - its Monday and inspired by the many good reviews we stop at the Kala restaurant and are invited to choose a table by a gentle lady 20:35 - amazing, we ordered 2 mains and 2 beers 20:40 - cold beers and cheers 21:20 - a waiter says they are sorry, too many people all together. asks us if we want to order anything to share. Its already 40 minutes and we prefer to have faith and to inspire pity 21:35 : food arrives, just in time I was about to cry. The food was nice, enjoyable nothing special but fine 22:00 : we are full and happy it is almost over. The nice lady comes to take empty dishes and asking how we'd like to pay 22:10 : the guys comes asking if we want Aperitivo or something to drink. Had their house pizza, which was pretty excellent and had great toppings and floppy, pliable crust that held it all together. Given all the inflation in Croatia on the coast, prices for Zadar downtown at this place were decent, plus I found the staff to be really friendly and happy I spoke some Croatian. They were a little overworked and understaffed on the weekday I went in June 2025, but they were being very accommodating to tourists speaking english and italian too, so I have to respect the team for doing such a good job. I know it can be frustrating to explain Croatian cuisine for people who haven't tried it before, but i think they were doing a very good job explaining pasticada to people. Plus, the gemist I ordered - properly good and a tall pour, thanks for that. Hvala, svima! Would definitely go back here if they keep this level of nice service and food at a good price...

The food was okay, horrible service, okay atmosphere. I ate a pizza, it wasnt anything special, i ate a little bit of it. The first amaretto sour was really good, the second one was just mid. The waiters were really late, one of us waited 25 min for a beer. The waiters were very stressed. Maybe we just came here at the wrong time but still. Really loud party music was being played the whole time. Maybe they could start playing some relaxing jazz instead? Think i might have been a little harsh with the raiting bjt i feel...
