Restaurant ORGULJE — Restaurant in Grad Zadar

Yesterday we visited this restaurant for the first and the very last time. We have been waiting at dirty table for 20 minutes until the staff noticed us. We had to tell them to clean the table, because they didn’t do it once they came to our table. We saw the waiter cleaning up another table by putting the remains of the food under the table!!!

They brought only 3 menu for 5 people. Their behavior was rude. The staff brought us only the forks and knives, although we ordered a soup. They brought the spoons 20 minutes later.

We ordered 3x tomato soup, 1x Al Tono pizza, 1x ham and cheese + corn pizza, 1x tuna salad, 1x gnocchi Quattro Formaggi. The waiting time for meals was approximately 50 minutes!!!

The soup was really far from good tomato soup. They brought only 2 soups (we don’t know why) and instead of bringing the 3rd one, they brought a tuna salad, which was supposed to be a main course. They brought the remaining soup after the half of salad was eaten with the apologies, that they forgot to bring it. So we told them that we don’t want the 3rd soup anymore and they took it away.

The pizza was good, although it was a big BIG problem for a staff to add a corn on the classic ham and cheese pizza. Also, they brought only 1 pizza (ham and cheese) and they again forgot to bring another pizza, which they brought 15 minutes later. The tuna salad and gnocchi were OK. When we asked them to pack the remains of the two pizza to take them home, they only packed 1 pizza and the other one we had to pack by ourselves.

In the end they brought us the bill on which they counted the soup, they forgot to bring!! So we told them to erase the soup, as long as we didn’t eat it and it was their fault. While arguing about the soup, we didn’t notice, that they put 2x tuna salad at our bill, so in the final, we paid them 77 kuna more (around 10€)!!!!!!

I got tuna steak, they made it well-done without asking. The whole meal was too salty. The service was terrible. I came after 9:30 pm, half of the tables were empty. They took an hour to bring my food and only because I broke down into tears (I was exhausted and hangry after a whole day hike). They gave me excuses like 'kitchen is busy, too many orders', then they told me that my waiter was new and it was his first day... they should warn people if this is the case, I would have gone somewhere else. Not even talking about them telling me to pick any table and then trying to move me to a smaller one. Then they were out of what I originally ordered and it took them 10 mins to learn about it. The wonderful ambience of our ancient Zadar Riva sea promenade. Green and blue meet on its white stone, and it deserves much more than this place restaurant Orgulje offers. The very rude, arrogant service is complete contrast to this iconic city place. The communication is very inappropriate and rude, the service is slow and at a very low hospitality level. Do we want tourism where quality service is an integral part of the offer? Change the waiter, during one Sunday coffee we saw and heard too many inappropriate things.
