This small place, at first glance seems like a cafe like all the others, but it is much more, much better, sharing both the north European with the Greek bond of exquisite food preparation, soft and refined in flavours and at the same time subtle and pure in its fresh quality.
I needed a place for a quick breakfast but not the usual heavy or oily fried food which is offered everywhere, and following this eye catching (Lisa's Flammhaus) route I quickly found myself in the heart of the bustling end of town.
There, a courteous and helpful gentleman and (I presume) his wife were catering both the clients and the takeaway orders swiftly, and without fuss, while at the same time amicably explaining the things on the menu which were new to me. What caught me by surprise was what was happening behind the counter, namely involving a hand made, very thinly stretched dough (barely a couple of millimetres thick) with few ingredients atop, similar to what a pizza entails, but rather different at the same time. In only 6-7 minutes I was served my order and it was so much better than I could have ever expected. Freshly baked on the spot, my flammkuchen was light, savoury and fresh, creamy but not overbearing. Perfect for the early morning. Together with an outstanding cappuccino, in both its aroma and sweetness in aftertaste, my brief experience was exceptional. The genial owners even offered me to try some extra pieces of spinach pie (which had a wonderful twist and was so much better than the already wonderful and famous recipe encountered almost everywhere in Cyprus). Thank you Mr Aggelos!...

My first time trying a Flammkuchen. For those who don't know, a Flammkuchen is sort of like a pizza but SOOOO MUCH BETTER 🤤
The dough is super thin, perfectly crispy and the toppings are to die for! There are a range of savoury options, including Lountza & Halloumi and a few vegetarian options too. There is also a delicious sweet option (Apple and Honey). Also available are numerous other homemade savoury and sweet treats, plus the usual coffee and drinks selection. But the star of the show is definitely the Flammkuchen!
Each Flammkuchen is handmade with love, attention and deliciously fresh ingredients. I ate a whole one to myself and I could not fault it. Every bite was beautiful! It was so delicious, I then decided to share a second one for dessert 😜
I chatted with the owners about the shop, the menu and even the impressive art on the walls (the artist is their young son!)
All in all, I highly recommend you check out this fantastic restaurant. It's very close to Finikoudes (just one road back), the prices are VERY reasonable and the food is delicious.
Also worth noting: comfortable chairs, air conditioning, WiFi, clean toilets and the staff were lovely.
I fully intend to make regular visits to Lisa's Flammhaus whenever I'm in Cyprus. You should definitely give this...

Like other reviewers below, I didn't expect to try Alsatian Flammkuchen for the first time in Cyprus but so happy I did! Upon seeing the positive reviews and fancying something healthier and lighter than other options, I decided to come here and had a great time meeting Lisa and her family, as this is a real family business!
🇬🇷🇩🇪🇨🇾 They are originally from Greece but lived in Germany for many years and wanted to bring this thin and crispy flatbread typical of Alsace to Cyprus, being the only Flammhaus in Larnaca! I ordered the Halloumi one and it was soooo tasty 😋 The cream base is divine, everything is made with care and fresh ingredients, just yum.The hummus one looks great too and there is a counter with other pastries and treats.
The restaurant is bright, stylish and welcoming, like them. I wanted to return the next day but sadly ran out of time, but will definitely return on s future visit....
