Moondog's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Nicosia

The food is ok and portions are good BUT, there is a bearded dude with tattoos here who is simply the rudest person I’ve met at a restaurant in all my 30 years on this planet😅. I have been to this place TWICE and got into in an argument (like actual back and forth) BOTH times over the fact that both times there were 8-9 of us and no one had revolut nor did we have each others bank account so we simply wanted to pay separately. Both times this same dude fully got into an argument with us telling us “we can transfer each other money but we are too lazy to do it”. Like bro both times we explained the situations and both times you actually made us engage in a heated exchange with you.

Whoever is in charge of this place should recognise that this person is extremely rude and ruins the experience for many customers with his utterly unacceptable behaviour.

The first time this happened I decided not to leave a review because it was a weekend and the place was busy so I thought maybe he’s upset and stressed about something else but the second time was a quite week day and he behaved even more insane and was asking where we were from mid argument and generally we were all just baffled by his behaviour. I never leave written reviews more than one line but this guy really got to us TWO TIMES over the same thing😅, calling us lazy and so on. The server was a Pakistani guy that neither speaks English nor Greek properly. We placed our order even though it wasn’t very easy to understand him. My main meal arrived first but not my wife’s. I waited a few more minutes and then asked another server where her meal was. She came back from the kitchen a few minutes later to tell me there had been an error and they had only started preparing it now. After 10 minutes it arrived. I then asked the original server what happened with our order only for him to say clearly that we had not ordered the ribs. I said maybe you didn’t hear me, he again was adamant I hadn’t placed any such order. When it was time to pay I spoke to another server and complained about the attitude of the original order taker. He was rude and at no stage apologised or just stated that maybe he just didn’t hear the order properly. The fact was he had a very bad attitude and clearly needs to be trained in hospitality. I guess when you hire cheap labour then you shouldn’t expect high standards. Shame, we like the food but won’t be returning. After my complaint the server said she would call the manager over. After waiting for 10 minutes we just left. Clearly she wasn’t interested either in...

We visited this place following a recommendation on their burgers. Well, everything was below our expectations. We had two burgers and a pork chop. Everything was seriously overcooked! You could taste the burning bitter taste in the pork chop while the burgers were made from bad quality meat. You could tell from the pieces of fat and small parts of solids inside. Service was slow as well and the waiters were not properly trained yet polite. Drinks are not cheap either. You can pay 5 euros for a pint of lager.

Update : A second recent visit to this place was a much better experience. We hqd chicken kebab this time which was nice and tender. Was supposed to be tandoori chicken but in reality it just had some extra spices. In any case it was a tasty dish. One more star given. On the downside, we sat in the covered "garden" , fully enclosed area that was full of cigarette smoke! Nit even sure if this is a legal setup, but it is surely highly unpleasant let alone unhealthy!

A third visit was a total disaster when it comes to food. Salmon with ginger n lime was tasteless with.. No ginger and lime and overcooked vegies. Oh.. And sweet as honey. one...
