Scale is a beautiful restaurant located in Map hotel in the center of Nicosia. Is a classy restaurant with nice atmosphere and very attentive and friendly staff. The food is good and they use high quality ingredients but the dishes are not mind-blowing or innovative to justify the high prices. Also the portion sizes are quite small but that is typically what is served in this type of restaurants.
The menu offers a nice variety of dishes both suitable for vegetarians and meat lovers.
From the starters we had the fried baby squid and the courgette and feta croquettes. The squid was well seasoned and perfectly fried. The croquettes were very tasty but the dip thought flavorful, I found it a bit spicy for my taste.
From the main dishes in my opinion the highlight was the veal cheek pastitsio. The truffle béchamel had an excellent texture and it was delicious. The veal cheeks melted by just using the fork and the meat had a really nice flavor. Also the ravioli was cooked on point and the completed the dish.
The prawn giouvetsi was nothing special. It was not bad but it could have a little more aromas as it lacked flavor. The texture and cooking of the orzo was nice.
From the desserts the half baked chocolate cookie was tasty but a bit heavy so I recommend sharing it.
In general, Scale is a nice restaurant that I would recommend but it needs some improvements in order to become...
Read moreScale has potential, and after eating here on 5 occasions itâs clear why it struggles to attract a crowd.
The food is good, with high-quality ingredients, but the chefâs creations are inconsistentâsome dishes impress while others fall flat. At this price point, that shouldnât happen.
The acoustics at Scale are terribleâit felt noisy even with just two other tables occupiedâand the music is intrusive and doesnât match the restaurantâs style. The Christmas decorations are another misstep, cheapening whatâs otherwise impressive interior design.
The service is excellent and one of the main reasons I keep coming back. The staff are attentive, friendly, and create a welcoming atmosphere, which, combined with how empty it always is, makes for a surprisingly relaxing dining experience.
It is disappointing to see such a disconnect between the restaurant and its social media presence. Despite launching a new menu in November, thereâs been almost no promotion of it, apart from a single post on the day it was announced.
One practical downside is the lack of parking in the area during the winter months when Winter Wonderland takes over the nearby parking lot. Iâve wanted to stop by for a quick lunch on a few occasions but gave up after being unable to find...
Read moreGreat service, very friendly staff, the ambiance was a bit noisy, not too much, i couldn't really listen to the music and the decor was minimal, with splashes of extavagance. Now the food. The beef carpaccio was delicious, with a mix of flavours tha complemented the tenderness of the beef, with some acidic notes by the pickled mushrooms and artichokes but also a crunchy from the mini rusks and smooth balancing notes from the truffle mayo. The burrata mushrooms were very tasty although the burrata's size and creaminess overshadowed the tanginess and umami flavours of the mushrooms. The T-bone steak was a dream. Cooked to perfection, a nice medium-rare, succulent, large piece (650gr), drenched in a deliciously sweet and ever so lightly acidic sauce. The Galaktompoureko was a very light and discreet sweet that complemented our dining experience leaving its sweet vanilla notes, like a sweet dream resting on...
