I went out for a girl’s night out, and the cocktails and aesthetics of the bar were great. We did arrive early and were able to enjoy a few cocktails, but be warned the bar does fill up fast. The bar has a prohibition theme, so you must know how to enter the bar, like ringing the buzzer. In the beginning, you’re introduced to a drinking game based on various characters; however, you’re also more than welcome to choose your cocktail of choice from a menu. A few reviews have mentioned that they didn’t like this game, but let me clarify, you can opt out of the game! Lastly, this venue is more suited for small parties. I believe their policy is groups of no more than four people.
While this cocktail bar may seem regular, I highly rate it for the servers’ attention to detail and their attention to constantly refilling your water glass. I’ve never been to a bar so attentive to ensuring a lovely experience. However, if you’re looking to get hammered quickly, this may not be the...
Read moreI’m reluctant to say anything at all about this place as I’d love for it to remain a hidden gem. But in appreciation of the night we had, I gotta say this is hands down the best bar I have ever been to. We received a warm welcome at the door and were given a fun introduction to what lay in wait for us. There are plenty of different seating options available (bar, table or booth) from where you can enjoy the trippy lighting, fun TV screens and energetic bar staff. They serve a mind blowing range of utterly twisted and superbly crafted cocktails. The wait staff have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the drinks and how they are made and they deliver this information in a fun and personable way. Paulina, you’re a legend. Plus the music is sublime and the acoustics are so good that you can appreciate it while still having a conversation. Even the edamame beans were on par with the best I’ve had in Japan. A solid 5 stars in appreciation of a wildly fun and...
Read moreCannot recommend this place, well, not highly enough. First, the staff all wear smashing circus uniforms with impressive gold buttons. However no red noses or, as I sincerely hoped for, monkeys with bow ties smoking Cuban cigars. When we hit the place, they let us first sit unsupervised in front of a large wall painting that depicted the adventures of a smiling tiger who after some hard times and starvation got to eat an undernourished Guru with his mobile phone. Later on, our group was moved to the bar, I guess to have a better eye on us as those flying umbrellas did not find everybody's appreciation. For those who do not just live on art alone, they serve some excellent cocktails with admittedly somewhat disturbing names. However, a surprising strength of their barman were the classics and I haven't had a meaner Vesper in a long time. The Old Fashioned and the Manhattan were further proof of our barman's fine craftsmanship. Heaven, if you like that...
