In my experience, Skøg is a nice place to come for a drink 🍸 late in the evening, since after 7pm it is officially a bar. They have late opening hours which few places in brno still have. If you are an alcohol drinker you will love this place, there are an endless amount of interesting mixes of drinks. I like that you always receive a glass of water when you sit down at the table, it is very uncommon these days. However, if you come for tea late in the evening, expect to be disappointed. They used to offer many vegan options of cakes, and they were the best we have ever tasted, but recently (in the past few months) there have been zero vegan options, but still lots of yummy looking vegetarian cakes. We mostly come here late evening after an event for a lemonade (which are very nice too), so I can't say much about the food. My feeling is that it would be nice since there are always interesting choices on the menu. I recall years ago having a takeaway 'Buddha bowl' style dish which...

So I went to Skog on the other day and asked for a double espresso. I did not want anything else. I payed and found a table where I could work a little bit. I asked the wifi password at one waiter and she asked me for my receipt and then gave me the password. I was in the coffee like 2 hours. During those 2 hours I was asked 3 times by waiters if I wanted something else and replied: no. I was satisfied with just a coffee and water. By the 4th approach by the waiter he asked me again and I said no one more time and he replied back saying that i needed to order something or else i needed to leave because they needed free tables. I looked if there were people waiting, there were 2 guys waiting just two. When I heard that. I immediately packed my things into my backpack and left. Never coming back. Horrible. I have already been in a lot of coffeeshops and this never happen to me. Even in starbucks when it’s full they don’t say costumers to leave their...
Read moreNot sure what happened last year or so (change of owner? Staff maybe?) but this place switched vibe. Especially the staff - while this used to be a nice place for coffee lovers, you could just bump by the bar, ask for an espresso, have a chat about the roast with the barista it does not seem to be possible anymore. Waiters send you from station to station to the till, if you don’t have a seat they quite arrogantly make a fuss about your order. Everybody seems in rush, busy and overlooking the basic hospitality principles, making the visit quitw uncomfortable.
It’s a shame, I used to visit regularly and recommed this place to everyone because it used to be prime example of great hospitality and vibe in Brno. Unfortunately I can’t do that anymore since it turned to just another off-the-mill rushed place losing...
