The bar that doesn't exist — Restaurant in okres Brno-město

2018 Friendly waiters. They remembered what me and my mom liked during the previous days. Menu not in English unfortunately but the cocktails are always amazing ♡

My BF and I have a long tradition to go here on a date and just have fun trying 4-5 drinks each from the menu. We don't do this regularly but at least once or twice a year.

I called about 3-4 times to make a reservation but no one answered my phone.

Once we got there, old and familiar faces were gone. The guy greeting us at the entrance didn't let us go upstairs until 7 PM (we hate staying downstairs since it gets too noisy and it's quite dark). In the past, this was never a problem; we would go upstairs and start ordering drinks until the kitchen gets opened. Then we would also order food since it's really tasty. We would then leave when it gets too crowded.

I guess that during Covid there were many staff changes; a lot of nervous young waiters, and no sight of the old bartender crew from 5-6 years ago.

Oh, not to mention that they changed the music a lot as well (say goodbye to retro/vintage music). It doesn't create the same atmosphere anymore.

Quite a shame, because it used to be my favorite cocktail bar in Brno. They lost all those little things that made the place different and special in...

This, along with being a bit pricier than average Brno spots, contributes to attracting a slightly more mature audience, which made for a pleasant, relaxed vibe compared to some other nightlife options. The drinks are the absolute stars here. If you're looking for unique, expertly crafted cocktails, this is your place. They move far beyond standard beer and wine offerings, focusing on quality and creativity. Every drink we tried was exceptional and truly memorable. Adding to the great experience was the service. The bartenders were not only skilled but also genuinely welcoming and friendly. They were happy to offer recommendations and even shared some useful local tips, which was a really nice touch and made us feel very welcome. We also sampled some food, and it was delicious – a perfect accompaniment to the amazing drinks, showing they care about the details across the board. Overall, I highly recommend "Bar, který neexistuje". It's an ideal spot for anyone who appreciates a true cocktail bar experience with excellent service and a great atmosphere, rather than just a place for standard beer or wine. Rude and unfriendly and the staff acted like they run a super popular bar in a city like London or New York. I refused a suggested table “close to the kitchen” because I saw some other free spots closer to the bar and was told they are not free and I would have to wait until someone leaves the bar now because other people are also waiting. Fair enough but super uncool the way the guy who was the head hostess did it. A barman took some pity and served us some drinks while we stood just off the bar around the entrance. Lots of other people coming in got treated similarly rudely but got seated. Turns out they aren’t so fond of foreigners like me either I guess or the young black guy who wanted to come in and was asked to wait outside. He never got seated either. Too many others were getting seated instead and I guess the place was just too full for him too. We had our Gin and Tonics, laughed about a few silly things going on in the bar, paid and left. Place is mediocre at best if you are used to rolling in big cities with good cocktail bars. Would have been nice to cap off an otherwise super nice day in Brno.
