Roland středověká restaurace - mittelalterliches Restaurant — Restaurant in okres Karlovy Vary

When my husband and I stumbled upon this new place in the city center, we were thrilled and even shared the link on Facebook with our friends. The menu was promising and unusual, the decor was interesting, and the location was convenient. But… three of the five dishes we ordered were practically inedible: the meat pâté: lukewarm, runny, and tasteless. My husband's lamb on boiled vegetables: tough, dry, and tasteless. He even asked, "Is this really lamb?" And for dessert, a tart—a pastry basket filled with a warm, very runny, and very sour pudding cream, with two blueberries floating in it. When I asked the waitress why this dessert looked different in the picture, she said, "I don't care, today is my last day here." The entire hour and a half we spent in this place, all we heard, besides the music, was loud Russian speech and loud laughter coming from the kitchen. Wir waren kürzlich zu zweit im Restaurant Roland in Karlsbad und wurden leider enttäuscht. Dabei möchten wir ausdrücklich Marina loben – sie war sehr freundlich und bemüht, was das Erlebnis etwas abgemildert hat.

Leider war das Essen inakzeptabel: Das Gericht mit drei Fleischsorten kam teils noch gefroren und mit rohem Teig auf den Teller – ein klarer Hinweis auf mangelnde Küchenqualität und Kontrolle. Nach Rücksprache mit dem Chef bot uns Marina als Entschuldigung ein Bier an – eine nette Geste, jedoch trinkt keiner von uns Bier, was ihr auch mitgeteilt wurde. Leider gab es darauf keine alternative Lösung.

Wir hatten lediglich eine Vorspeise, die wir uns teilten, sowie ein Glas Wein und ein Mors. Marina versicherte uns, dass wir für das Hauptgericht natürlich nichts bezahlen müssten – verständlich. Doch als wir aufstehen wollten, hieß es plötzlich, dass Vorspeise, Wein und Mors sehr wohl zu zahlen seien. Das widerspricht der vorherigen Aussage und hinterlässt einen faden Beigeschmack. Wo bleibt hier die klare Linie?

Schade, wir hatten uns auf einen schönen Abend gefreut. Für uns leider kein zweiter Besuch.

Недавно мы посетили ресторан Roland в Карловых Варах и, к сожалению, остались разочарованы. Сразу хотим отметить работу Марины — она была очень вежлива и старалась помочь, за что ей отдельное спасибо.

Но, увы, кухня подвела: блюдо с тремя видами мяса подали частично замороженным, а тесто оказалось сырым. Это говорит о низком качестве приготовления и отсутствии контроля. После разговора с шефом (со слов Марины) в качестве извинения нам предложили пиво. Мы сразу сказали, что не пьём пиво, но альтернатив нам предложено не было.

Из всего заказа у нас была только одна закуска на двоих, бокал вина и морс. Марина уверила нас, что основное блюдо оплачивать не нужно — и это казалось логичным. Но когда мы уже собирались уходить, нам вдруг сказали, что за закуску, вино и морс всё-таки нужно заплатить. Почему было невозможно принять решение заранее и чётко его придерживаться?

Жаль, мы ожидали приятного вечера, но, к сожалению, остались лишь с чувством неудобства и недоумения. Возвращаться...

We payed a visiting to this restaurant as a friend group of 6 people. The waiter was friendly but had a hard time understanding English. But with the help of a translator he explained that if we want to split the bill we need to order separately. Bit of a strange behavior but fine.

The beer is a self made version and varies in taste, due to it's unfiltered nature. But for 99czk a bit pricey.

The restaurant is supposed to be a medical inspired one, inspired by movies maybe but most certainly not by a true account of history/medival times.

Portion size was ok.

To sum up a...
