March 2023 Okay it feels bad to write a bad review because the server was very nice to us overall.

But the food was so egregious that I am compelled to write this.

The good part. Sambhar was above average. The tomato chutney was good.

Well now let’s come to the bad part. The Menu. There were a total of 5-7 types of main course. Mostly just Dosa. But I was like okay maybe that’s their specialty and they do really good dosas.

The dosa. The dosa was neither authentic nor even the North Indian styled. At best I would describe it as an amateur north Indian home cooked style. The dosa was fat and soggy, the opppsite of thin and crispy as it should be. The filling was just okay.

Coconut chutney. On a scale of 10, it would be a zero. I would say negative if possible.

No refills. Sambhar is served in small bowls everywhere because all South Indian places give free refills for sambhar and chutneys. We were served measly amount of sambhar with no refills, we had to pay for more.

Price. It’s a bit on the higher end, if the food was good I would happily pay but for the food it’s outrageous. For two people, without any drinks( they don’t serve beer !!!!!! In CZ!!!!) the bill came out to be 680CZK. No drinks. Two main course, one starter.

Please...

This experience was far from authenticity. Had medhu vada with sambar - vadas were quite good, but sambar was for no reason blended, no spices in it as mustard seeds, curry leaves, coriander, any particular taste of tanginess, it was overall tasteless. We also ordered parotta with coconut curry. Parotta was quite nice, but I had trouble to finish the sauce. The spices were completely burned which made the sauce entirely bitter, also I believe that customers wont like to find big amount of whole spices in their meal except when talking about biryani. Indian bay leave (tej patta) doesnt taste like czech bay leave hence it gave another strange flavor to the sauce. Vegetables in the sauce were frozen product which I dont believe should happen for a dish costing 260 Kč. Another dish we ordered was parotta with soya manchurian. I was only curious how this north indian sauce and south indian bread combination can go together. Unfortunately I didnt manage to finish the meal as well. Sauce was literally just ketchup, soya sauce and vinegar lacking some complex flavor. Again dish not worth paying 260 Kč for. I am really sorry for this experience as it made me never come to the...

We found this dosa place on Google and were so excited to have some comforting South Indian food nearby. The interiors looked decent, but the moment the food arrived, everything went downhill.

The dosa and uttapam were completely burnt. The burnt taste was so strong that we had to send it back, but even the replacement dosa tasted the same. The masala inside the dosa was honestly a joke — just one tiny spoon of filling! I couldn’t help but laugh.

The sambar tasted like plain boiled water with a faint hint of masala, and the chutneys were downright unpleasant. To make it worse, the food was absurdly overpriced for the portion size. We’ve had lunch and dinner at several places in Prague, but this was by far the most expensive and least satisfying meal.

We paid around 900 CZK for a dosa, a small uttapam, one small vada, and a lemon ginger drink — which was bland too.

Utterly disappointing experience. Save yourself the regret and avoid this...

We had an absolutely fantastic South Indian lunch at Dosadum, located in the Lesser Town just at the end of the Charles Bridge. It's tucked away in a cozy basement, but don’t let that fool you—the food here is truly exceptional! The menu is fully vegetarian, and everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and authentically prepared. The dosas were crisp, the chutneys rich and varied, and the sambar had the perfect balance of spices. What really stood out, apart from the delicious food, was the warmth of the owners. Their hospitality added a special touch to the meal. Whether you're craving South Indian vegetarian cuisine or looking to try something new in Prague, Dosadum is a must-visit. Highly recommended to all fellow travelers!

A great little spot just down the bridge from Charles Bridge—super handy if you’re exploring the area and craving something South Indian. Dosa Dum is located one floor below ground level, painted all white, and while it’s a bit small, it feels clean and inviting. We tried a variety of dosas, along with buttermilk and filter coffee. Everything was pretty good! The buttermilk especially hit the spot—it was so refreshing on a sunny day. We also ordered paratha, and while the second one came out a bit sour, Omkar, who was serving us, was friendly and quick to replace it without any fuss. Would definitely come back next time I’m in Prague. Wishing the team at Dosa Dum all the best—keep it up!
