Faust Restaurant — Restaurant in Prague

We are there twice during our recent trip to Prague - both times the food was great and the service excellent, despite our poor attempts at the Czech language. On our second visit, our waiter, Lubos, was particularly charming and helpful. This is a small, cozy place - nothing fancy and definitely not a tourist destination - which is exactly why we liked it. Žádná katastrofa, spíš horší průměr. Byla jsem tu asi čtyřikrát, dnes naposled. Zajít si na sladké knedlíky nebo prostě na nějakou rychlou klasiku, to jo, to bych dala klidně 4-5 hvězdiček, ale kuchař se snaží vařit jídla, která sice dobře zní, ale vůbec neví jak je udělat nebo vůbec co jsou. Hlavně si nedávejte nic, co se jmenuje rizoto - dnes si ho dal přítel a kuchař očividně neví, že rizoto má mít krémovou konzistenci. Místo rizota dostal suchou rýži se zeleninou jako ve školní jídelně. Já si dala masové ravioli se sýrovou omáčkou a chutnaly jako ty, které si koupím v obchodě a udělám si je, když potřebuju narychlo něco teplého. Domácí limonády taky nedoporučuju, chutnají uměle. Obsluha byla vždy milá, rychlá, ale dnes tam byla jedna servírka, asi nová, a byla velice zmatená, ale to by se dalo odpustit, když by bylo dobré jídlo, což se bohužel nestalo:( Nemluvě o tom, že jsme se museli doprošovat o to, abychom mohli zaplatit. Po asi 10 minutovém čekání co jsme servírku informovali, že bychom rádi zaplatili jsme se sebrali a šli to zaplatit sami k baru. Žádná omluva. No...

It was our first restaurant in Prag and we have to say that it was the best! The food was awesome and beer too. The Schnitzel was yummy!
