Hajnovka — Restaurant in Prague

The dish amounted to passable, middle-of-the-road Czech food. Leaning towards the pricier side as far as restaurants in Prague go — i've certainly had better for far cheaper. The service was friendly up to a point, although not the most attentive. My main issue is the waitress taking advantage of me as a tourist — hounding me for a tip and getting upset with me when what I decided to leave was considered insufficient by their standards. I live in the US — a tip-mandatory country — where the waitstaff regularly make under minimum-wage, and I have never been pestered in such a snarky, obnoxious way before. That aspect of the experience left a sour taste in my mouth, and i'd prefer not to patronize a place that treats customers in such a poor manner. If this restaurant has any integrity whatsoever, I would hope that they would correct this behavior. I guess the other reviews about a "rude waitress" seem to...

Lovely, authentic Czech food and great service.

We loved eating at Hajnovka after being recommended to visit by a friend. The service was polite and prompt and the food was so so tasty.

We started with sausages which were spiced just right and very tasty, followed by Duck Confit (with cranberry red cabbage and bread dumplings) plus Chicken Schnitzel with mashed potatoes. The food was so nice and so filling… make sure you’re hungry!

The price was very reasonable too. We spent about £20 per person for two courses and two drinks each plus service charge. Very reasonable.

The staff were so lovely, the place was clean and the food was really nice. Would recommend for an authentic Czech meal...

At 27 years old I can confidently say this is a top 5 restaurant experience. After travelling through Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna and Prague, this was by far the best food. We came on 2 occasions, firstly having the beef goulash and then the Sirloin with cream sauce (which reminds me of IKEA meatballs with cranberry but a thousand times better)

Close enough to the centre that it doesn’t require a long walk, but also far away enough from the tourist trap areas not to get ripped off. Very adorable, very friendly staff, please visit and you won’t be disappointed
