Update: I believe what happened to my room was an isolated event, so I adjusted the rating.
Hope the hotel could improve their readiness for emergencies in the future.

Had to sleep in the open, in the little yard of the hotel. Brief account below:
4th night, AC malfunctioned, error code CH meaning sort of leakage. It was too late to have it repaired, and there were no vacancies, had to sleep with the door open (no openable window), as suggested by the staff. Understandable situation.
I asked for a fan. The staff at reception kindly found me one, which was actually a radiator than a fan and made quite some noise in comparison to the weak breeze it produced (see attached).
And that's where things got worse: loud noise from ventilator (see attached) made it impossible to sleep, as it was a small room and the noise got louder when ears touched pillow.
The ventilator could not be turned off -- sort of automation that kept ventilator on as long as AC was off. The hotel had no folding beds or anything like that.
I had to come to the solution of sleeping outdoor, on chairs in the little yard (photo attached). Came to Prague for vacation and got a people without homes immersion tour lol.
The poor staff, in an impossible situation, suggested to treat the ventilator as white noise. -- I get that when people are really tired they could sleep under any circumstances but I am on vacation, not in a trench.
So here I am, recording this unfortuate event at 2:49 AM. My plan for tomorrow possibly cannot be carried out.
This is no fault of the staff, but definitely reflects poor equipment arrangement and poor material preparation on the end of the hotel.

Read moreI do not recommend the hotel, there are a couple of things that went wrong worth noting: -the smell from the bathroom — awful, there must be something wrong with the piping. There is ventilation, but it’s super loud and does not allow to get rid of the smell completely. -It is impossible to open the windows (which does not help with the smell), you need to rely on the ventilation and air conditioning, which makes it either to cold or too hot (I’ve tried all the programs on it) -you can feel the vibrations from the trains going underground, the building is new and not properly insulated against that. -it took more than two weeks (and multiple stern reminders) for the hotel to issue an invoice which I was supposed to receive to my email „upon checking out”. I finally got it.
The only upshot was the location (close to the national museum, yet in a calm district) and nice, friendly staff. For the amenities — it’s definietly overpriced. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially people who value a good nights sleep — you have the constant humming of the ventilation, the vibrations from the trains, and, if you want any air, even if it’s not warm outside, you have to turn on the AC, which is not...
Read moreI’ve been staying at Residence 14 with my mom and 4-month-old daughter for 1,5 months and our experience was totally positive. The apartment is really stylish and fully equipped. You can find lovely pictures of old Prague spots inside. Our apartment was meticulously clean and equipped with washing machine, dish washer, microwave, oven and vacuum cleaner. So we had everything we needed for a long stay. Whole building is covered with a high-speed Wi-Fi, there is also smartTV. So, literally, you can live there forever ))
The aparthotel is located near the City Center. It is 5 minutes of walking to Vaclavske Namesti. There is also a verity of grocery shops and cafes in the nearby. And Riegrovy sady💛Amazing park where you can meet the sunset with panoramic view of Prague.
Excellent service, really modern and technological way of checking-in. All the managers were very responsive, always did their best to make our stay even better. I would highly recommend this residence ether for a vacation or...
