PIZZERIA PARADISO — Restaurant in Prague

A place to avoid. Don't be fooled by the low and suspicious rating on Google Maps.

All the jobs in the pizzeria are done by one person. That person is also a waiter, bartender, cook and hygienist. There is no heating in the pizzeria, and it was 2 degrees below zero outside.

I ordered a draft beer, and I got beer from a bottle that the bartender/cook secretly opened and poured into a mug. The bottle was standing next to the beer dispenser. The kids ordered water, and they got open bottles without caps, we suspect that he was adding water from the tap to those bottles.

The pizzas were terrible because they are served on previously prepared frozen dough. Of the three different pizzas we ordered, all were the same. We didn't get the pizzas at once, but they were served at intervals of a few minutes. He brought the salad, which was made from old vegetables, at the end. We didn't eat the salad, we didn't finish the pizza.

The person working in this pizzeria seems to be deliberately making fools of their customers. He doesn't wash his hands after taking money from customers, immediately goes back to the kitchen to prepare food and also goes back to the bar to serve drinks.

Questionable reviews for this one, so I will chime in as well. Not a great place, would stay away.

Tldr: even at its low low prices, this aint a 4+ star place (which the reviews make it seem to be), this is 2 / 2,5 at most if everything goes smoothly with the order. If it doesn't, like in our case, it is no more the 1 star.

Owner is definitely trying but in the end this was just a frozen pizza thrown in the oven with maybe some extra spices (including hairs). We ordered some pizzas and pasta and the owner gave us the wrong ones. He did fix this by making a new pizza but it did not help the experience. Pasta wasn't great.

Place is also dated and so is the toilet. Prices are bottom of the barrel, so that's positive but please do yourself a favor and walk a bit further to a place that actually serves fresh Italian food.

I seldom have to write 1 star reviews, and I hate doing it in my guts, but I really cannot go higher than this for...

He told me I could pay in euros but just cash and tried tricking me with the currency exchange. The check was 350 CZK (14€) and he told me it was 18€. When I told him it was actually 14 he apologized and took my 50€ to get the change. He came back with 30€ when he actually had to give me 36€ and when I told him he tried to gaslight me and told me that I could have exchanged the money down the street and that he didn’t have more, when I actually saw he has more than enough euros to give me back right on top of the table. I told him and could only get 4€ back after an argument. Still missing my 2€. Food prices were cheap and food was not abundant but was good.
