Lovely clean restaurant, with a nice relaxed atmosphere; spoiled by the most rude and horrible vindictive waiter we experienced on our trip to Prague. There is no menu in English so the main words are fine but some of the extras just need explaining. - something he makes a big deal out of. After everything makes sarcastic remarks and clearly speaks really good English. Made downright nasty comments after each interaction. We needed a little more time to read the menu - to which he remarked that he hasn’t got all day and the restaurant closes at 10pm (bearing in mind this was lunch time) there was plenty of free tables. I ordered a ham and cheese panini to which he took exception, my wife orders a bruschetta to which he corrected her pronunciation. Absolutely no need, he made a rude comment after everything we ordered. So that’s why she’s so fat. After she ordered a beer. I decided not to order a drink, to which he made further comments of no one comes in here and doesn’t order a drink. It was to be honest down right embarrassing. The worst experience I have ever received at a restaurant anywhere ever. The beer came in a bottle and when my wife had finished she placed the bottle in the glass, he rushed over and told her never to do that. The worst part was still to come, during payment he demanded a tip, to which we replied no we don’t want to tip him. He got aggressive and threw a chair to the floor on the table next door. He then created a scene in the restaurant in front of everyone and shouted go and never come back as we left. I stood at the door and asked for a word with the boss, to which he said he’s in another restaurant in town. Never ever experienced anything like this ever. - just go...
Read moreTERRIBLE and RUDE behavior/service by the staff , but decent cake!
So after reading good reviews on google, me and my girlfriend went to have a coffee and a cake to celebrate her birthday. The overall experience turned out to be a disaster by a male staff who is working here. From the moment we entered the cafe till the moment we left the place, we felt very uncomfortable and were treated very badly.
My girlfriend ordered a chocolate cake and a camomile tea while I opted for only a cake as I have sleeping issues with late night coffee / tea. The male staff who took the order was not probably happy that we came there only for a cake and tea, and it was obvious ok his behavior. The hot water for tea was served in a kettle, which means she could use the same camomile to make tea at least twice, but the male staff removed the tea from the table without even asking us. We felt it was very rude. He was then staring at me for no reason, I tried to keep eye contact for a lengthy period and but then thought I don’t want this guy to ruin our beautiful evening, so we left the place as soon as we can!
Perhaps it’s the hospitality in Prague restaurants. Would never...
Read moreCesar salad was great, generous portion, nice dressing. I also loved the juice (apple +pear). Service, however, could be improved. We came in about lunch time and then people started to arrive. The order was taken quickly. When we wanted to pay we joined a small queue to the till thinking that we could pay directly. We were asked to sit down and told that a waiter would bring us the check, and so we did, thinking that the queue is for take away only. But it wasn't. Unfortunately, no one else who came to the till afterwards was told the same, so we ended up waiting at our table while the rest of the cafe visitors continued to come to the till to pay for their tables. It was a clear communication issue between the two members of staff, and when a friend of mine told them about it the guy was frankly very rude. Anyway, decent food, okay prices, however the personnel needs a little training and better communication between themselves to ensure that their clients don't suffer when things get a bit busy. Whichever payment system they pick, it should be the same process...
