Judging by the review of Let's Meat, this is an eatery with a good reputation and loyal clientele, who have had a great dining experience. Sadly, i cannot say the same. I'll even go so far to say that mid-afternoon on a Friday is not the best time to try a restaurant for the first time.
The Good: starters were really good, generous and on-point flavour-wise. Their burgers are about average for Prague. Good beef patties, fresh condiments and served quickly. But also it's a burger and not the most challenging dish to prepare for a grill restaurant.
The Not-So-Good: The Ribeye steak option on the menu is 429kc, and might appeal to some potential diners. What we were served up was an embarrassment - chewy, under seasoned, full of gristle and accompanied with a "mushroom" sauce that had been reheated, left to cool, then reheated again. Basically it was the consistency of glue. Zero mushroom flavour because it has been reheated too many times. The steak itself was clearly handled by a cook who doesn't respect his/her ingredients, and the whole dish should never have left the kitchen. So disappointing that a kitchen can treat quality ingredients this badly. If you can't hire a chef/cook who can grill a steak then don't include it on your menu, and then charge 429kc for something horrible inedible. That killed the afternoon for my group. Please refer to the pic.
I ordered the ribs, which were ok, despite lacking real depth of flavour. The ribs come with a mountain of coleslaw, which was swimming in it's own watery run-off, and tasted like store-bought coleslaw. If it truly is homemade, then ok fine, but change the recipe please. Bland, no seasoning, watery and lacking fresh crunch. Pics included in the review of the ribs swimming in coleslaw water
My partner returned her steak to the waitress who was about as responsive and friendly as a slab of concrete. Must have been a tough day because she clearly was somewhere else during the whole 90 mins we were there. We had to bring the plate to the waitress as she was parked at the bar... ok so the restaurant was empty, except us, but why should the wait staff kick back and ignore even one table of customers?
We ordered a burger to make up for the poor main meals, and that is the only reason this reviewer gives Let's Meat a pass of 3 out of 5. Despite the mumbled apology, which was almost unheard in the silence of the empty dining area, the burger was good. But you can get as good, or better for the same price anywhere in the city.
I'm sure Let's Meat deserves their positive reviews and scores on various online review sites, but our experience was not even close to being good. A disinterested waitress, lazy or inexperienced kitchen staff who allow poorly prepared food to leave their kitchen, and food that was bland, unseasoned and reheated.
I hope your experience is...
Read moreWe visited the restaurant on the 1st of May. Since it was a public holiday, we weren’t sure if they were open. My husband went in first to check, as the place was completely empty. A girl inside replied, rather coldly, “No, I’m here for decoration.”
That response felt unnecessarily rude, but we still decided to stay—after all, we had seen the restaurant on Instagram, and I had already picked a dish I wanted to try. However, I couldn’t find it on the menu, so I showed the post to the waiter. He simply said, “I don’t know what you want,” and walked away.
Later, a different waitress came and asked what I had requested. I showed her the same picture, and she confirmed that they did have the dish in two or three different variations. When I asked which one she would recommend, she replied that she’s vegetarian and couldn’t advise.
We ordered two dishes and a beer. The service remained curt and indifferent.
The food itself was fantastic—beautifully prepared and delicious. No complaints about the kitchen staff at all; they clearly do an excellent job.
But the attitude of the front-of-house staff was truly unpleasant. One waiter in particular — a tall man with a short haircut, wearing shorts and socks — had a demeanor that felt disturbingly authoritarian. His behavior reminded us of a certain aggressive style associated with 1940s fascist aesthetics. As people from the East, not the West, we strongly felt that this kind of attitude clashed with us personally and culturally. It was a very upsetting and disappointing experience.
We genuinely feel sorry for the kitchen team, whose work was superb, but unfortunately, we won’t return because of the way we were treated. We've also shared our experience...
Read moreThe burgers are really nice! The place has only 3 types of burgers, but they cook them very well. The toppings were added generously, and the quality of the ingredients was great. Be aware the portion is kind of big (check the pics).
The surprising point was the service. We arrived when the place was empty, but the waiter did not let us choose the table. They only offered us small tables far away from the nice window view, even if all the rest were empty. When we asked if we could sit at a table closer to the window and leave it when a bigger group of people came, they rejected it.
I received the call and was on the phone at the end of the dinner. The waiter asked if we're gonna leave or order something else because some people were waiting for the table. It was kind of rude, but in the end, we negotiated 20 min more and left the place.
Also, the service-related thing: the price of adding jalapenos to the burger is not written on the menu. It might look free according to the menu, but they will charge you at the end. Just to...
