At Matylda's, we tried the famous Svickova and the restaurant's homemade sausage, along with a mix of half a pint of Pils and half a dark beer. While the beer was tasty, the food didn't convince us. To be fair: We hadn't had the national dish before, so we weren't sure what to expect. But the sauces tasted sweet overall and somehow inblanaced. Together with the beef, which tasted a bit like liver, we could hardly finish the plate. The two sausages were better, but lacked nice side dishes, it was really just bread and toppings.

The service was a bit funny but also strange, whistling at us when the food arrived or acting very surprised when I, the man, didn't want half a liter of beer but only a small one.

In total we paid 600 Kc, which seemed like a normal...

Nothing amazing. When we got there we were given the option of where we wanted to sit which was nice. The food was good enough but nothing special. We had fried chicken with boiled potatoes which was fine as its quite a simple meal. We also had their goulash which was nice but I was put off by the fact that the sauce was hot and the beef was barely warm, probably because it had been microwaved. The drinks were cheap but the selection could have been bigger. Price was very reasonable and the portions were big. Dessert was a let down as it lacked flavour and was just boring. Waiter was nice enough but had limited English skills. We got two sides, mash potato and bread with dip both of which were up to standard but again...

Such a lovely local Czech restaurant we found on Google Maps! (I usually spend hours to find these places ahahha) The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. FOR REAL!❤️ The chicken soup and tartar were absolutely amazing—I didn’t want the soup to end! However, the bread served with the tartar was a bit too oily and heavy for my liking. My dad eats with no salt or very little salt and they respected it and served the chicken soup accordingly. My mom ordered the duck, but it was too heavy for her, and she couldn’t finish it :( Almost everyone in the restaurant was Czech, which, in my opinion, is a great sign of a local favorite. Overall, a nice spot for authentic Czech...

Found this place by accident as we were staying at Boat hotel Matylda about 20 mins away from this little gem. I thought i was looking at the menu for our hotel but it was in fact this restaurant Matylda - the venue looked good and reviews were positive so we decided to visit. We were not disappointed, easy to find, great feel of the place, staff were pleasant and friendly, food was nice, staff always checking if everything was ok. Price wise- judge for yourself- 1 starter, 2 mains, 2 cider and a beer - and with a 15%tip it all came to £42. I think that is very reasonable as the portions were huge. Definitely recommend 👌
