CHIAKI Sushi - Prague: A Hidden Gem
Nestled away from the bustling main roads of Prague, CHIAKI Sushi is the city's hidden gem that deserves more recognition than it gets. Its somewhat remote location, a little off the beaten path, is perhaps the only reason you won't find it packed at any given time, but this adds to its charm and exclusivity.
Upon entering, you're greeted with such warmth by the staff that you feel immediately welcome. The decor and ambiance transport you straight to Tokyo, making the dining experience not just about food but also about cultural immersion.
We decided to go for the sushi plate for two, which was nothing short of spectacular. Each piece of sushi presented to us was a testament to the chef's attention to detail and commitment to freshness. The fish was exceptionally fresh, melting in your mouth with each bite, while the rice complemented it with its soft, delicate texture.
Not stopping there, we ventured further into the menu with kimchi soup and gyozas, both of which maintained the high standard set by the sushi. The soup was a comforting, flavorful embrace, and the gyozas were the perfect follow-up, fresh and satisfying.
CHIAKI Sushi is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. For anyone who appreciates the art of sushi and the depth of Japanese cuisine, this place is a must-visit. It's a solid 5-star recommendation from me, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to Prague to indulge in this exquisite culinary...
Read morewhen I first saw the restaurant in internet I was like: OMG, what a cute concept!! turned out in reality it looks even better. wished to stay a bit longer to make more cool pics, also the food is delicious, I am hunting for Asian restaurants every time I travel, so I can assure you there is the best gyoza you can ever find. also I really liked the unique style of serving ramen. couldn't fit sushi, so maybe next time (as I would definitely come back next time!!) also they put a plushy avocado in front of you so you're not eating alone. there is a cute menu with pictures and creative names, very creative and funny playlist playing (heard cupid fifty fifty meow ver, adorable), also the atmosphere is JUST IT! I would also recommend to try any of the lemonades or ice tea they serve, I usually don't like restaurants drinks, but the green ice tea there was delicious. Also the staff is so cute and nice, I liked all about the communication, except you need to find any worker by yourself as the restaurant has two floors (or more?) and they can run somewhere else. I would also recommend to double check the price tags for the souvenir shelf as they are not on every item which was confusing. Overall liked it, adore the concept and creativity, the food is MMM delicious, left with stomach full of...
Read moreI feel a bit cheated - I think Chiaki may be part of a franchise, because it looks, feels and tastes very similar to Sushi Oishi. I even saw a book with Sushi Oishi name on it inside and I swear, I saw at least 2 more asian cuisine places in Prague, that have exactly the same concept and look.
The atmosphere is very cool. I like all the little details, love and care put into it. Cute animals, toys and other “anime esque” attributes really make for a fun experience.
The food was good. Nothing fancy, but it’s worth the money, it looks appealing and the portions are big enough.
The service - was one of the best I’ve experienced in Prague. Very attentive! The servers explained to us all needed details about dishes, gave tips and were very friendly. I also liked, that they give you an origami book to entertain you, while you are waiting for the food. Good idea, but the book was missing pages with instructions and the ones remaining were in German :/
Overall, if you’ve been to any other places from the “franchise”, you can skip the visit and just go to the closest one of the bunch. But if you are new to this - I can...
