MATOKA, Cheesesteaks & Burgers 🍔🍟 — Restaurant in Prague

The food in this place was absolutely amazing. We had the BBQ Philly Cheesesteak and the Mushroom Beef Garlic Cheesesteak - I’m drooling just thinking about them! It’s more of a quick stop food place rather than a restaurant but there are plenty of tables to eat inside. The food itself was 100% flavoursome and so very tasty. Friendly staff too and you can watch the food being prepped and cooked. Good price for seriously fantastic food. So very very tasty. I’m sorry I keep saying this but it really was! There were lots of delivery orders coming through whilst we visited, which is always a good sign of a good food place! We tried going back for lunch just before our flight home as we wanted a reminder of how seriously good the food was- but they only had burgers😕 as they were just starting to set up. So we never got round to having a second go at the mouth watering Cheesesteaks😢. To anyone considering this place - it is an absolute gem! You will not be disappointed I guarantee it! We went to Matoka Cheesesteaks and Burgers in April 2025 during our visit to Prague. This is my review.

PROS: • We’ve eaten here three times during our time in Prague—that’s how good it is! When we came back to Prague for the second leg of our trip, I almost stopped here before checking into our hotel. • The food is always served hot and tastes SO good. I don’t know what cheese they use, but it’s incredible. Melty, flavourful, and takes everything to the next level. • The service is excellent—special shoutout to the man with the beard, he’s always so kind, attentive, and welcoming. • We’ll be recommending Matoka to everyone we know visiting Prague. • Lots of seating and a chill vibe—great for grabbing a bite with friends or just relaxing after a day of exploring. We also love that’s it halal as adventurous Muslims!

CONS: • Honestly none!

CONCLUSION: Matoka has become a core memory of our Prague trip. The food, the service, the vibes—everything is just top notch. Can’t wait to come back to Prague just...

I ordered from Bolt.

I have tried talking to Bolt support, and got ignored.

The food is alright for its price. I would say above average. However their service for delivery was terrible. It took them nearly half an hour to complete a fairly small order, and though this is the delivery service's fault, it was another thirty minutes of delivery to a location 10 minutes away.

It would be fine, if not for this one detail; we spent 60czk on their garlic sauce twice which we did not receive. We paid for a product which we did not get, and we did not receive a refund.

I would never complain about any restaurant like this, however this ruined my day completely. For an order for 2 people that cost damn well near 1,000czk they could at least include the darned side sauces that we ordered.

Would I recommend this place? Yes. It's good, they have ISIC discounts. Would I recommend ordering to go?...
