Steak restaurant Titanic — Restaurant in Prague

This is a friendly neighborhood place, most of the other diners there were Czech, not tourists, although the menu is available in a rough interpretation of English. Prices were really great - we started off with a couple dark czech beers (yum!) followed by a carafe of their unbelievable local czech red wine - I wish I had gotten the name because czech reds are not usually so delicious and drinkable. Our main courses were heaping platters of grilled meats -- duck, lamb, beef, and chicken, all served on a bed of scalloped potatoes alongside red pickled cabbage and other goodies. It may have been the jet lag or the alcohol which was starting to seep into our system but we both thought the food was wonderful, unpretentious and tasty and quite reasonably priced. They also have a big menu of sweet and savory pancakes (palacinki) which we did not try but looked really good.

It was pretty smokey inside which might deter some. Great...

Wasn’t to impressed with this place to tbh me and the Mrs both ordered the rib eye steak with mixed fries peppercorn sauce and some Spicey dips…. Wow was we disappointed where do I start the chips were frozen fries and they come over cooked in the fryer … the peppercorn sauce for the steak was more like a mushroom cup of soup then our Spicey dips wow there just little tubs of garlic Mayo….. onto the steak first impressions looked ok we both asked for medium rare however my partners came out still saying moo far from medium rare… mine well full of fat and gristleit was horrendous it was like chewing on my nans muddy rubber welly … I wasn’t mad or angry just very disappointed …. They did offer to reheat the steak but it would of been more chewy … we won’t be going back tbh…wish I would of read the...

UPDATE after owner’s response: Your explanation below would’ve been a better response other than us being barked at in a demeaning manner as soon as we walked in. I have been to multiple restaurants that have been fully booked and they were able to communicate this is a more cultured and polite manner. Train your staff to do better because first impressions do matter…clearly.
