Started out with a pleasant greeting from the waiter, jokes and laughs were had and we got seated quickly.
Firstly, one of our menus was missing a page. I was questioning why this restaurant that advertises steaks didn't have any options. It happens, and we went forward with ordering drinks and our food.
I ordered the fajitas 199kr, my wife ordered a parma pizza 179kr. Around 10-15 minutes later our food arrived, so the service was fast. The food however...
My wife's pizza was an okay pizza. Then again a bad pizza is always okay, no matter what.
My "fajitas" were really bad. Bell peppers with tomatosauce and beef strips that's been cooked into rubber, Served on a skillet.
There was some type of rice that more resembled a porridge with frozen peas. Bland, inedible and lacking salt. The waiter noticed me poking through my meal not even 30 seconds after I got it and told me he will get me something more for my meal. Nacho chips with not even a teaspoon of guacamole, some tortillas that had been microwaved and a salad. Apparently this was supposed to go with the order anyway, so I guess they just forgot the rest of the meal before they served me the beef?
I told the waiter that I wasn't going to eat this and he told me they were going to make me a "fresh and new one" as if the previous attempt was just heated up leftovers.
Second attempt the beef wasn't as rubbery, but everything else was just the same. Bland and tasteless. When we got the bill the waiter told me he couldn't remove my "meal" from the bill but I insisted that I was not going to pay full price for something I barely touched because of the bad quality. I was starving and forced some beef into a tortilla. That's all I had.
He got upset with me and told me he would pay for it personally in an attempt to guilt me into paying full price.
Bill was reduced from 479kr to 400kr I didn't want to pay for my meal at all, but my wife wanted to leave so I obliged and we payed and walked away. Trust the...
Read moreI've lived here just long enough to have a feel for what kind of establishments are worthwhile and which are tourist juicers, but today my guard was down. It was a handsome Sunday afternoon and I was wandering through the streets of Copenhagen, taking in the smells, sounds sights, and feels of the city. The sign out front of this anonymous restaurant advertised a variety of tasty entrées for just 89,- what a deal! The wait staff showed me to a charming table for one underneath their outdoor shaded patio, and were quick to inform me that their 89,- special had ended at 16:00 - barely 7 minutes ago. Fine. Whatever. I ordered the Big Chimichanga, which ended up costing more than twice the deal I thought I was getting. But then I made the fatal mistake of asking for water (still). When they brought out the bottle, at first I thought there was a mistake - I didn't order alcohol. But no, turns out they had decided to pop open a fresh Acqua Panna, the finest mineral water from Tuscany. Ended up adding an extra 59,- onto the bill, which imo, might as well be a tourist tax. And the water wasn't even that good. I'd rather have had unfiltered tap water. It's pretty fresh here compared to back in the US. Now look, when it comes to the chimichanga, my expectations were already low. Good Mexican food is hard to come by even in California, so I was fully prepared for a salsa-that's-actually-just-straight-up-ketchup situation, I just wanted the meat and cheese. And, like, they delivered, I guess, but the 'changa was a little bit pathetically tiny, the meat clearly not fresh and the tortilla cold. The yellow rice had been squeezed out of some kind of jello cup, and was cold, stuck together, and quite flavourless. added nothing to the dish. Overall it was a pretty unfulfilling dining experience, but to be fair, it's on me for choosing to sit down there in the first place, given its clear demarcation as a "fancy"...
Read moreBy far some of the worst food experience in my life. We were first offered a table that was still dirty from the previous guests while the rest of the restaurant was still empty. Then we had to wait for about 20 minutes to get our order taken. We ordered caprese and carpaccio as starters, the carpaccio was half way frozen, the caprese was just tomato and mozzarella with a bit dry oregano on top. The waiter apologized about the caprese and said and said we wouldn’t have to pay for it. The carpaccio was switched to one that wasn’t frozen. We ordered hot chicken wings with garlic sauce and fresh veggies and pepperoni pizza as a main. The hot wings were again still half way frozen, no garlic sauce or veggies came with it. We asked to the wings to get changed and they came warm but again without sauce or vegetables. When we asked the waiter he came back with a plate of heated vegetables that probably came from a freezing bag judging by the taste. The pepperoni pizza was by far the only reasonable food besides the fact some of the pepperoni pieces on top looked more like pieces of grilled sausage rather than pepperoni. When we asked for a discount the waiter said he was going to print the bill and come back to discuss it. Another waitress brought the bill and said she wasn’t allowed to make any discount. After 15 minutes the initial waiter came back and after some discussion we didn’t have to pay for the starters. None of the food was worth paying for in the first place. Would rather eat pepperoni pizza...
