AVOID. The worst treatment received in my life within the hospitality industry.
Last Sunday I and my wife visited this cafe'. My wife could not eat or drink anything as she was not feeling good at that moment due to health reasons. She asked me to find a place to sit down, take a quick rest, and go to a bathroom before going home. We found what seemed to be quite a beautiful and welcoming place. So I decided to order a coffee myself at this place, so she could stay a couple of minutes, relax and feel better as she asked.
Without going into private matters, I cared to make clear to the cashier that I was ordering only for myself, and then see if my wife would feel ordering something later on. He was ok with that and very nice to me. I paid up front, he allowed us to sit and he took the coffee to the table. He did not object to anything nor when I ordered, nor when he delivered the coffee. However, just 10 minutes after, a waitress came outside and told to my wife she could not stay if she did not order. When I complained about her being rude in her tone, she at first lectured me (!) that "poor her" I should order something for her (!). When I explained that my wife could simply not order anything at that moment as I mentioned before, she answered that these are the "owner's rules": every single person has to order something or leave. Fine, but why these rules were not mentioned at the counter by the other employee while I made clear I was ordering only for myself? It seemed a little strange to me.
It seems from other bad reviews - but of course, I cannot be sure - that the waitress that came to speak to us was indeed the owner of the place.
Anyway, the waitress (owner?) was so rude in her attitude that we decided to go for reimbursement and leave. To be fair, while the reimbursement was no problem, it went from bad to worse: the waitress (owner?) on top of being rude just a few minutes ago, told my wife she had been the rude one for not ordering anything! The irony! My wife declined to comment. The situation was something we have never seen before in our life (and we both lived in several countries), and we just wanted to go.
It was not only us at the cafe. Other people witnessed the situation, which was apparently so bad to see that somebody else wrote a very heavy review about what they just saw.
If the cashier had made the condition clear in the beginning, we would have left straight away. My wife was not in optimal condition, and we would not have wasted our time. Their "special rules" were not made clear nor even mentioned while I was ordering. We were instead welcomed to seat, served, and then asked to leave by the waitress (owner?), resulting in huge discomfort. The experience was unsettling and made her feel physically feel a bit worse. Luckily, the vast majority of people are nice. Therefore just a couple of meters away we found a cafe where she could take her time and relax. The owner at the other cafe understood the situation, he was nice, and guess what? After a couple of minutes, she felt better and we both ended up ordering several items spending a nice afternoon and forgetting this horrible, hideous, almost surrealistic experience.
I have no problems with rules, even the ones I do not agree with. Rules are rules. But they should be made clear upfront, instead of letting a person enjoy a service and then coming back at your customers later on. Also, rudeness is not necessary. Last but not least, we are far from being the only people having a bad experience: the place is ridden with bad reviews and you can find them on several platforms.
It is a pity because we liked the place at the beginning. I liked the style and the place so much, that I was planning to come back several times. Until we received, as I said in the beginning, the worst treatment I ever received in the...
Read more⚠️ My original review was from August 2022 and the owner replied on April 2023 trying to negate / disproving my review. The way she replied proves her rudeness. Making up a story that didn't happen. The place on that day was mostly empty and there was no queues at all + she was yelling at me. The owner demands good reputation while making false statements on the negative customer experiences. THIS is defamation.
🚫👎AWFUL 🚫👎EXTREMELY RUDE 🚫👎AVOID IT🚫👎BEWARE🚫👎* WATCH OUT🚫👎ALERT*🚫👎
My partner and I visited this place. The day was ending, nobody was queueing or waiting for a seat. We only ordered for one as I was not feeling 100% fine because of my pregnancy.
My partner made it clear up front that we will order ONLY for one person and the waiter/cashier was OK with that. We sat, the coffee was served with no problem, some minutes after a woman came to the table asking if she could do anything for me. I replied no thank you, I am OK and perhaps a bit later I will feel like ordering something.
She started to increase the tone and volume of her voice and lectured my partner for not ‘getting me anything, suggesting that poor me and that perhaps we could not afford more’… RIDICULOUS!. She said that I could not stay there anymore and that I should leave immediately. She screamed on my face: YOU ARE NOT PREGNANT. - Who is this woman to decide if a woman is pregnant or not? RUDE AND PATHETIC
I am extremely concerned about how this woman treats people. The worst is that she apparently is the owner (?) and DENIES everything.
DO BETTER LADY! And for everyone else, AVOID this place. There are plenty of nicer and more human options in the area.
I am not surprised about the TERRIBLE bad reviews you have also in TripAdvisor and FB....
Read moreDo not go here! Unless you want to use the toilet 😏 I couldn't believe what happened here!! My second bad review of all time! Popped in as I saw ppl drinking something that looked delicious, whilst waiting to be served at the front, my pregnant girlfriend went to use the facilities. The lady at front of house started shaking her head and mumbling restroom. My partner exited the toilet by the time I was attended to. I enquired what the drink was - spoiler alert... It was a latte in a fancy glass... Before I asked anything else, this lady started accosting us about our use of the toilet stating it was for paying guests only and that we didn't wait to be seated. Here is where it gets crazy... She then extorted us! Said we now needed to buy something because we used the toilet! Can you believe it!? I went to walk out because I was outraged, my partner however, being kind and gentle caved and purchased a drink to go. Can you believe it!? A legitimate potential customer chased out of a restaurant after being extorted for using a toilet which costs them nothing. Such a sour experience, to be treated so poorly... I felt obliged to inform all who are thinking of going here to know what kind of mobsters you're going to be giving your money to...I do not recommend going here to...
