Had a high anticipation for this restaurant because my Danish relatives booked it before our trip to Danmark for Xmas visit. The food was ok. The service was terrible. Understand the restaurant was busy. We were under the pressure to hurry up and make our order. No smile. The waiter was like a robot and cold. It was 4 of us. I was not hungry. When my boyfriend ordered the Xmas dish. I added 2 side dishes (duck breast and Danish sausage) as for my dinner. The waiter was very sloppy. In the first round, he dropped one sauce on the other sauce on his serving tray. In the 2nd round, he dropped one of the items from the plate to his tray and dropped the sauce on the table. 3d round he gave me a dish I didn't order and told me Danish don't share dishes. It was the exact same dish my boyfriend ordered, plus the 2 side dishes I ordered. So, I ended up having more than I wanted. Not to mention the extra cost to my bill and waste the food I couldn't finish, the point of side dishes I ordered was not to share food with my boyfriend. Besides, how did he know I wanted the exact same dish as my boyfriend ordered?! Even though the manager apologized for this waiter's behavior, I just wanted you all to know there are many restaurants in Tivoli. I certainly will not recommend this restaurant and not...
Read moreThe service was bad, the prices are high and the food is just ok. I’m a non-danish visitor, we came there as a family. We waited several minutes until anyone came to our table. When we asked for explanation about the menu and recommendations (because we weren’t familiar with the danish cuisine) - the waiter said “I’m busy with other table” - what an unprofessional and rude attitude! (at that point I wanted to get up and leave - and we should have done so). We eventually ordered two child plates with little schnitzels (that came rather quickly) which were, to our surprise, spicy! (who puts spices in kids food?!), my wife ordered a salmon fillet, and I ordered a minced meat (which is essentially a burger without a ban) with peas and fried potatoes. The meat was cooked well but the potatoes were too salty. Both dishes were ok, but in my opinion didn’t justify the price. My kids didn’t eat their schnitzel because it was too spicy for them, so I let them have my ‘burger’. The waiter didn’t show up even once to ask if everything is ok. We ended up frustrated, with 817dkk bill, and it kind of ruined our very pleasant visit at the...
Read moreOne of the star is for the wonderful waiters, and one for the preserved 1880’ tivoli style interior.
I make the effort to pay extra $ often when I have visit to try and visit that place again. The food is worse each time, smaller portions for more terrible food.
Last experience: This time I had a salmon so dry it had curved! I send it back. I never ever do it but it was just so dry that it had to be stopped before others experience that disaster, and I feel I have been ripped off too often by that place. Well kitchen comes back say, I have eaten too much of it, must like it. The fish is a shoe sole, any cook would see that. This convinced me further that the bad quality meat and fish, dirty coffee pots and sad looking salad is no bad luck, there’s something fishy happening in the kitchen but that’s isn’t cooking fish...
