Sam’s Bar is rapid fire Karaoke! There no boring breaks between songs, just a steady constant stream of Karaoke. Sam’s system is automated with Karafun, not the best song versions (like CC Karaoke) but consistently good. There is a QR Code on the screen that links to you an easy to login webpage to request a song. You can also watch the queue to see how many songs are requested. When you are up next your name and song will roll across the top of the screen. The bartenders rarely touched the queue but do have the ability to manage the song list.
Technically, Sam’s employs a compressor / limiter so if the singers are too loud the whole sound level gets pulled down automatically and then gradually goes back up. I did notice the bartender adjust the master level a couple times but generally speaking the automated system did 98% of the work.
The microphone is welded into a phallic metal arm so the singer has limited mobility. The quality of the microphone was low which makes sense because Sam’s turns into a drunken sing along, a hazard for quality microphones.
The sound system was a good level but could have been a bit louder. The audio monitoring from the singers position is limited, it’s slightly hard to hear the song over your own voice. A vocal monitor would be a huge boost for singers.
Sam’s is about fun first and foremost, the crowd who gathers here gathers around the microphone and sings their lungs off. Rapid fire karaoke is awesome and I highly recommend you experience Sam’s.
Lastly you can go anytime they are open and sing all you want, there is no lazy DJ bitter he has to cue up songs for a couple...
Read moreI left my 12-hour job as a bartender and the other Karaoke bar didn't have the song I wanted and I came here to try what I had to lose but the security at the door wanted 30 Kr. He was right and wrong but treating someone who is tired as drunk is not right and good behavior. I only drank half a glass and wanted to sing so I spilled the rest of the glass and he made me feel ashamed with a rude speech. He tried to check my bag as if there was something wrong. Yes, I had water, even though I was willing to pay 30 Kr, I asked if he could only watch my water until it came out. He acted like he was going to beat me. I was going to waste that money just for one song but it wasn't worth it for a tired person. After a 12-hour shift, I regretted it. I would not recommend it to anyone and I would never say goodbye.

I may have made a problem just for the water bottle because I was angry and already tired. I'm sorry about that, but the question that still bothers me is why I think there is insecurity. The security guards are there to help, not to beat me. Even though I'm really tired, I can't sleep. I still wonder why this racism...
Read moreLove the vibe at this bar. Good atmosphere and the bartenders are really great considering everything they have to put up with. Had to take one star though. Idk about you but I go to a karaoke bar to SING...Imagine that. It's only partially the establishments fault. If you didn't have the same five a$$hats singing fifty songs in a row then it would be heaps better. Their execution is a joke. You literally just write stuff on paper and they add it to the computer. Where I live the dj keeps a log of the singers, so that if you haven't sang yet youre likely to get a chance before someone else who sang already goes to sing ten more times that night. But since no one cares and the workers have no system to keep it fair, I wont be returning 🤷♀️The first night was during the week. Spent heaps on drinks and waited three hours but sadly the song never made it. This time it was a weekend- bought a bunch of drinks...FOUR HOURS LATER... still no song. Its ridiculous and easily fixed by downloading a program that logs...
