Would have given ZERO star if Google allowed me to do so. Just finished dinner there half an hour ago. The food itself is overall acceptable except that the achar ghosht is too spicy for me even if I have ordered mild spicy. The greatest problem, however, is the attitude of the chef! Since my husband and I were very tired after one and a half day on the road non-stop, we didn't have a good appetite and was planning to wrap up the leftover for later consumption. I think the chef was mad assuming we did not like his food, he collected our dishes without asking! At first I thought he was trying to help clean the table a little bit, but soon found out he wasn't because he put the cover of a pot right on the middle of our rice, which my husband was still eating three seconds ago! The next second I heard him pour our food into a rubbish bin and started to wash the dishes. Upon checking the bill, we complained to the restaurant owner, but she didn't propose to make any compensation or promise to avoid the same from happening again; instead we were to pay the full price for the two main courses which we haven't even finished half and were taken away involuntarily! I have to say this is totally unacceptable and a chef as rude as this has ruined our evening! In sum, this is the worst dining experience I have ever had! Will not patronize Shahi Indisk...
Read more👎 As an Indian, I would highly recommend not to try this restaurant for some very valid reasons. First of all, we waited for 10 mins outside the door, didnt know what to do where to do, which door to open before getting seated. The place is very small and the seating it too tight. It was okay there was no-one at the time, so we were comfortable. We ordered pretty standard food, naan, butter chicken, malai kofta and onion bhaji. The service was super slow too, the waitress wasn't around at all.
🤢 The pakodas were not fried well, the chickpea flour was still wet and not cooked. The butter chicken and the kofta gravy was exactly the same, they literally gave us the exact same thing. The naan was totally wrong, after years of eating naan in India and in several countries i can assure that it was not original naan but just some store-bought nanbread, you get. (Lot of people have said the same thing in the review, so of course its true)
😒 Lastly i requested the waitress to get me tap water which is perfectly normal thing to do in Copenhagen, cause the tap water is so clean here and locals take a pride in that, but they told me they charge 25kroner for water which was ridiculous cause even fanciest Indian restaurant or even any restaurant doesn't do that here. All in all, really a bad experience.
🛑 Highly recommend not to eat here, considering...
Read moreVisited with 1 year old and wife, no luggage. Owner reply is referring to another Indian family which was kicked out around the same time. Sad how Indians are treated here.
Very very bad hearted people and place. No heart. Took many white people in without reservation and turned down multiple Asian people (Indian).
Any white person walks in - “3 people no reservation” - they are allowed. We asked the same thing and we were turned down - saying “not allowed”. Indians are treated as 2nd grade citizens here. Same thing happened with another Indian couple with kids.
Owner or his staff lying … Multiple white people walked in with the statement - “3 people no reservation”. Maybe owner should check how his staff is only allowing white people - maybe for higher tips. Rather than learning from this experience - he is stating things his staff is telling him.
We had a 1 year old and we were literally kicked out of the place and into the rain. When we were waiting outside the door of the restaurant - the guy kicked us away from the street as well. Who does that?
Worst restaurant for Indian tourists!! They will get all bad luck because of how they treated 1 year old. My God!! For like ever!!! This incidence happened at 7:15 PM on...
