The Vietnamese – A Fresh Take on Vietnamese Tapas in Copenhagen If you’re in Copenhagen and fancy a memorable meal, The Vietnamese is an absolute gem you can’t miss. They’re bringing something new to the table with a twist on Vietnamese cuisine, combining the flair of fine dining with a Spanish tapas vibe. Imagine: all your favourite Vietnamese flavours, but served as small, beautifully crafted dishes that make the perfect pairing with cocktails or beers. It’s the ultimate spot for a laid-back bite with friends or a date night with a twist. The food here is just as delicious as it is inventive. From the very first bite, you can tell there’s been real thought put into every dish. The Grilled Oysters with Salted Egg Yolk and Cheese? Pure magic! Rich, a bit daring, and surprisingly addictive. And if you’re craving the classics, their pho is just as warming and full of flavour as you’d hope, capturing that cosy, comforting essence of Vietnamese cooking. The vibe inside is chic, modern, and refreshingly different from your usual Vietnamese eatery. And here’s a tip: while it’s often quiet at lunchtime, dinner can get busy, so book a table in advance if you’re planning an evening visit. If you’re looking to spice up your culinary adventure in Copenhagen, The Vietnamese should be right at the top of your list. A fun, delicious, and totally unique experience that’s well worth checking out!

The 8 dishes fixed menu or 2 dishes fixed menus are the only choices now. The 8 dishes menu entree was nice, but the main dish was a failure - disappointing hard like baked noodle with very small portions (4 bites pieces) of beef, flavor was not good/interesting, the beef was not tender. The desert was also very ordinary and too sweet. You can see most recent review, some people already posted pictures, so I will not do it again for all dishes. All other dishes are small portions too, so you do not need to worry about getting too full. Ps. I had been to this restaurant quite a few times before Covid, I liked their free choice menu very much. They had many good flavored dishes such as duck, grilled squid, nice beef pho etc etc. the most recent visit except this time was 2020 August). And the value for money is much lower compare with before. Now the 8 small dishes menu is 445dkk/person, which I rather have the old way of freely choosing 2 nice entrees and 1 main dish with good portions and maybe 30-50% less than the current cost. (found my receipt: 3 people: Restaurant: The Vietnamese; Date and time: 2020-08-25 21:51 Amount before discount: 645,00 DKK)

Spring rolls for the Pope. Huy Duc Do came to Denmark as a 13 year old from Vietnam his mom an expert Pasteur Street Pho Bo cook. The best Beef Noodle soup (pho bo) in Saigon, hands down is on Pasteur Street. Anyway he went on to become a Franciscan priest with a PhD in Philosophy and when the Pope came to Assisi he requested Huy Duc Do cook him Authentic Vietnamese Spring Rolls (Nem Ran Hay Cha Gio) and Pho Bo. BUT now he can cook the Pope's favorite soup and Spring rolls for you in Copenhagen Denmark as a few weeks ago he open THE VIETNAMESE. Oh the Spring rolls the Beef Noddle Soup are the real deal broth cooked for 18 to 24 hours and the spring rolls are rice paper as they should be no the short cut flour kind.

Final answer for the restaurant.

I was simply responding to your reply. You are not addressing the points of critique I have raised. I have no interest in disparaging or humiliating your restaurant – I am just a regular customer who often dines out and loves Vietnamese food. Yet, you still managed to disappoint both me and my party, and that is not our responsibility. I have also not asked for compensation or anything else. I am genuinely shocked by your response, especially when several other reviews say something similar.

Svar til restauranten

Tak for jeres svar.

Thank you for your response. I have never doubted that you serve traditional Vietnamese food – I simply pointed out that the quality was not good. The chef mentioned that he would have liked to present the food, but no chef came out, and the waiters only stated the name of the dish before moving on. If the chef also acts as a waiter and clears tables, it was not apparent. We requested a reasonable pace – not because we were in a hurry, but because we were just having dinner. That other guests were finishing up is surely normal in a restaurant. We are otherwise easy guests, but the experience was disappointing. No harm done – we just won’t be coming back.

Jeg elsker vietnamesisk mad. - Jeg anbefaler IKKE den her restaurant.

Hyggelig restaurant.

I love Vietnamese food. – I do NOT recommend this restaurant.

Cozy restaurant. Really dry food. Poor execution of the dishes, very small tables, and lacking service. No comment on the fact that they cleared two plates that were almost untouched. I cannot recommend this place—if you’re looking for good Vietnamese food, this is not the place. Admittedly, the presentation looks nice, but that’s where the compliments end. Overall, it seemed like there was no real organization.

Naturally, I would have liked to talk to the staff about the experience. However, no one took the time to ask about the food or why we had barely eaten anything besidesthe rice. The staff seemed almost annoyed when...
