I recently visited a small pizzeria cafeteria that also offers sandwiches and “chip coffee.” The experience left me with mixed feelings, as there were both positives and negatives worth noting.
Firstly, the pizza itself was decent. The flavor was good, though nothing exceptional, but it did satisfy my craving for a quick bite. However, the pizzas are notably small for the price, which left me feeling like I didn’t quite get my money’s worth. If you’re looking for something more substantial, this might not be the best place to fill up. The sandwiches, while available, seemed secondary on the menu and didn’t particularly stand out, so I opted for the pizza.
As for the coffee, they serve what they call “chip coffee.” It’s not a traditional coffee experience, but it does the job if you’re just looking for a simple pick-me-up without any frills. That being said, if you’re a coffee connoisseur expecting something crafted or freshly brewed, you might be disappointed.
One of the major drawbacks of this place is the cleanliness. While the food seemed fine, the overall atmosphere was not the cleanest. Tables weren’t wiped down regularly, and the floors had bits of crumbs and litter scattered about. The lack of attention to cleanliness made the environment less enjoyable, and it was noticeable that the space could use more regular upkeep.
Additionally, the pizzeria doesn’t have a restroom, which is quite inconvenient, especially if you plan to spend any time here. This oversight can be a dealbreaker for some, especially after having food and drinks. If you need a restroom break, you’ll have to look elsewhere, which detracts from the overall experience.
In summary, while the pizza is okay for a quick bite and the coffee will give you a caffeine fix, the portion size, lack of cleanliness, and absence of a restroom make this place hard to fully recommend. If they addressed these issues, it could be a much more...
Read moreReview of Madbaren Marmorkirken Pizza – Tasty, Efficient, but Mind the Music
Madbaren Marmorkirken is a bit of a hidden gem – a nice little spot with only one person running the show when we visited. That said, the lone staff member was incredibly efficient, managing everything smoothly and with no fuss. You’d hardly notice he was working solo.
The pizzas were very tasty – fresh, well-made, and packed with flavour. Even better, the prices were very reasonable, especially by Copenhagen standards, which can often be quite steep. We left feeling full and satisfied without breaking the bank.
The seating is quite limited: just a couple of small tables outside (each for two people), one big communal-style table inside, and a few stools along the wall if you’re looking for a quick bite. It’s more of a grab-and-go or casual stop than a sit-down dining experience.
The only downside was the music playing in the restaurant. It was loud hip-hop with quite a bit of swearing and repeated use of the n-word. While it might suit some vibes, it didn’t feel very family-friendly – something to keep in mind if you’re visiting with young kids.
All in all, we highly recommend MadMaren for a quick, delicious and affordable bite – just maybe bring headphones if you’re not into...
Read moreThis was the singular best restaurant experience of my entire life. Although I have only lived sixteen years, I have had many memorable culinary experiences. Among them all, this was by far the best. It was the only time in my entire life where I went to the same restaurant four times in five days. It was that good, I promise. It deserves beyond five stars, not only for the food, but more importantly for the unequivocally pleasant and extraordinary service of the owner and chef, Ayub. To start off, the food was top tier. I had the immense pleasure of savoring both the steak pizza and the steak sandwich, both of which graced my tastebuds. They were both excellently cooked, seasoned, and perfect in every which way. Beyond the food, the service was legendary. Ayub was among the kindest, most outgoing, fun, and genuine people I’ve ever met. The conversations ranged from jokes to politics to philosophy and religion and everything in between. He is among those whom you get lost in conversation with. My trip to Denmark truly was not the same without him. I more than recommend this to anyone who wants good food and good talks. Thank you for everything Ayub,...
