Taratsa — Restaurant in Geziret al Zamalik, Jazirat al Zamalik

I had my outing at Taratsa yesterday and made a reservation for 30 people with a minimum spend of 750 EGP. However, at 10 pm, we were informed that our reservation was until 12 pm, but we were asked to leave early because a belly dancer was scheduled to perform and they needed the tables for other guests. We offered to pay an extra 250 EGP to meet the 1000 EGP minimum for the belly dancer, but after lengthy negotiations, the floor manager Mina was uncooperative and rude.

Kirollos, the reservation manager, initially agreed to our proposal but later changed his stance, claiming he never agreed to it. The staff at Taratsa were unprofessional, and the owners seemed indifferent to our concerns. To make matters worse, they added items to our bill that we didn't order, resulting in a higher total cost. Overall, our experience was disappointing and frustrating.

I strongly advise against hosting an event or visiting Taratsa. The lack of professionalism, dishonest practices, and poor customer service make it an establishment I cannot recommend to anyone. It was a regrettable and unpleasant experience dealing with such...

Place is spacious & clean. Service was fast & food is good yet it's really expensive!! though the place is spacious yet I believe they overtook more people than the capacity of the place(it was weekend)and as a result you can't easily move around,our table was placed in a way that literally everybody has to excuse us to pass behind our backs,so if you're eating you have to stop, give a space for them to be able to pass then continue,not only customers I'm talking about but also waiters with large trays with food & drinks in it passing over our heads!!! One of our orders had a side sauce and it contained white wine & by the time we realized there's something wrong with the taste& informed the waiter we think the sauce either bad or has alcohol in it he denied,they changed it,but different waiter served it,so we asked him does it contain wine & he confirmed it has!!! In my opinion it's a big fail if ur staff doesn't know what they are serving!! A very long and not organized waiting line outside the place, although we all had reservations.

The guard was so rude and unprofessional. He closed the door and said, "Nobody is entering now!" even people with reservations.

We asked about the veil, and they said it's allowed, but after we arrived, they told us to wait for the staff member who made our reservation for about an hour and a half, as our veiled friend can't enter because she's wearing a "spanish" style veil not a turban! However, there were lots of veiled girls inside with different styles other than the turban. Finally, she left as they refused to let her in.

Was so crowded, and the service was too slow. You have to ask for whatever you want many times.
