During my stay in Luxor, I had the pleasure of dining at Loqma, a restaurant recommended by the hotel receptionist. Conveniently located near my hotel, the restaurant boasted a clean and tidy ambiance with spacious tables, although the chairs were not the most comfortable. As a lover of grilled foods, I was thoroughly impressed with the amazing selection of dishes available and found myself ordering numerous items over my two-day visit. The food was consistently hot, fresh, and delicious, without any issues to note. However, I did have a minor issue with the restaurant manager. While the staff were welcoming and friendly, the manager's attitude left something to be desired. When my wife asked him about a dish on the menu, his response was lackluster, simply stating that it was a regular dish as it had always been. Additionally, his tendency to discipline his staff in front of customers was unprofessional and made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. Despite this, the prices at Loqma were reasonable and not overly expensive. The ambiance is by far one of the best I’ve seen in Luxor, Egypt. The place looks clean and well-maintained. Coming from a humble background, I understand that ambiance doesn’t determine the taste of the food, but a good basic ambiance does enhance the overall experience.

In terms of value for money, it’s definitely worth it. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food in Luxor. I personally found it to be a great deal.

The restaurant offers plenty of choices. I ordered the couple set for two, and it was more than enough for us, costing only about 800 EGP. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

You don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy great food. In Egypt, with a little research, you can find many places offering delicious food at great value, and this is one of them!

Best meal we’ve had in the whole of Egypt! Our awesome guide Ismail recommended Loqma, and we’re so glad we had dinner here. We had the Al Walyma tray - which was super filling and perfect for 4-5 folks. We love the beautifully presented platter as it had a bit of everything yummy - kebabs, kofta, shish, ribs, stuffed pigeon, perfectly grilled chicken, hawawshi, sambousek on top of rice and some grilled veggies.

The portions are generous and the meat dishes goes down well with their lime and mint juice. Super friendly staff, generous portions at a very good price - this is honestly one of our favorite restaurants in Egypt and definitely one of the best in Luxor.
