Karnak Restaurant — Restaurant in Luxor

Amazing experience. Very impressive.

Right from the start we were very kindly welcomed in, asked about where we would like to eat (inside or outside).

The starter was very tasty and in very good portions. The Tzatziki sauce was perfectly seasoned.

Me and my Wife eat light, so we had pasta and Salad. The pasta was cooked to that nice level, "Al dente". The Salad was Calamari Salad, a cold salad that goes well with the sweet hot weather that you have outside. The Chef nailed the point for the Calamari, they were hard, but not chewy.

For drinks, we had water, can't provide feedback for drinks. Well the water was fresh, so that's an extra point.

For desert, we were treated the pastries that you find in the picture and they were divine. I don't usually eat sweets, but these were hard to let go, you can tell they are traditional, but somehow felt familiar.

Another thing that impressed me a lot was the quality of the coffee. For me, that have it expresso black no sugar, quality of coffee means a lot. Since I arrived in Egypt, this is the first coffee that I can call coffee that I've had. I don't like that grainy Turkish coffee nor the Nespresso, so being able to taste a coffee like the ones in my country (Portugal), felt really good. I don't usually make comments this long, but the friendliness of the Staff along with the great price/quality of the meal made it easy for me to review this one.

The Beef Lesagne is really good, perfectly cooked in fact - And tastes great! From an atmosphere perspective: Its very chilled here, very relaxing... makes sense for a resort ;) Wine: There are a variety of wine options, but if you buy it by the glass, then there is 1 option per type (for white, red etc.). I'm not a fan of the white wine that comes in a glass, but that is pure preference... It hits a little on the bitter end. If you get it, add ice and let it sit for about 5 min to dilute. Then it's refreshing. Then the little bread rolls and butter.. these are awesome! Fresh and real butter. Will try the red wine at the next lunch/dinner and update...

The waiters of the Restaurant were very friendly, there was one in special that unfortunately I do not recall the name which even helped us holding the hot metal pans so we could get the fresh food. We were the first for lunch, lol.

Speaking of the restaurant itself, the food was very simple and the same during the four days we stayed there, and expensive if you won't eat multiple times (all-you-can-eat restaurant). On the other hand, it was very tasty and most importantly, very ocidental / american, meaning no spicies. For some, that is a question to be able to eat things or not. Thank you...
