Oriental House Restaurant — Restaurant in Luxor City

My best restaurant experience in Egypt. The owner Gawad is one of the few people I met in Egypt that really stands out from kindness and generosity. He speaks good english and also some french. He is genuinely concerned with his guests. We went there a second time, for our last meal before leaving Luxor. Food is amazing, very tasty. We took the oriental grill. It is perfectly grilled and tasty, it comes with very tender rice, salad, tahini and various small dishes. The owner recognised us and gave us some goyave drinks and fruits for free. The price is very reasonable. The place is air conditioned which is a blessing here. The owner does not try to push to buy more or sell any kind of services like other places, he even gives free add-ons. I can only recommend this place at least to see the good side of egypt opposite of all the annoying...

This is undoubtedly the best restaurant we've encountered during our travels in Luxor! The owner (an elderly gentleman) was exceptionally kind and hospitable. As Chinese tourists unfamiliar with the local cuisine, he patiently explained each dish's ingredients and preparation methods with remarkable detail.

What truly sets this establishment apart is their extraordinary thoughtfulness. We spent the entire afternoon savoring their delicious meals, and even more impressively, the owner generously offered to store our luggage free of charge while we explored the city. Every interaction with him radiated genuine warmth, making us feel like honored guests rather than mere customers. PS: I really love fresh fruit juice...

The BEST of the BEST in Luxor! The owner went above and beyond, providing complimentary drinks and small add-ons without being asked. Interestingly, he noticed we spoke French and mentioned his previous experience working at the Winter Palace. It's clear that his training and background have contributed to the exceptional service. The food was outstanding, with perfectly grilled dishes and amazing marination.

But I wait until the end to write and review because I don't want any bad surprises at the building. And he did not disappoint! The bill came totally honest and very very affordable- only 775 Egyptian pounds for two people.

So I wholeheartedly recommend...
