I recently had the misfortune of booking a hot air balloon ride with Star Balloons, and let me tell you, it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish.
Let's start with the pricing debacle. I eagerly booked my tour with Star Balloons for a staggering 1200 EGP, only to later discover that the actual price was a mere 800 EGP. It seems that Star Balloons has no qualms about gouging their customers with inflated prices.
Then there's the issue of punctuality, or rather, the complete lack thereof. Despite being told to be ready for the tour at 07:00, we didn't take off until a mind-numbing 09:00. By that time, the sun was already blazing down mercilessly, turning what should have been a pleasant experience into a scorching ordeal.
And as if that wasn't bad enough, when we finally did take to the skies, we were greeted with the disheartening sight of an empty sky. It turns out that all the other balloon groups had already completed their trips, leaving us floating alone like castaways. And why were we left twiddling our thumbs? Because Star Balloons was still desperately trying to scrounge up more clients. They'll try to blame it on the weather or some bureaucratic red tape, but it's all smoke and mirrors. If the weather was truly that bad, then why were other balloons flying just fine?
But wait, it gets worse. Remember when Star Balloons promised us a breathtaking view from the top of the ruins? Yeah, well, that never materialized. Instead, we were treated to a lackluster panorama of... well, not much really. And to add insult to injury, the entire flight lasted a paltry 30 minutes. That's right, after all the waiting and false promises, we barely had enough time to even get a decent view before it was all over.
In summary, if you're in the market for a hot air balloon experience that's overpriced, poorly timed, and utterly disappointing, then look no further than Star Balloons. They'll gladly take your money and leave you high and dry (quite literally). Save yourself the headache and go with a company that actually values their customers and delivers on...
Read moreThe hot air balloon experience with Star Balloon was a nightmare. They sold more seats than the first flight (sunrise flight) seats capacity, and in the end you would be put into the second flight. As a result, we completely missed the most anticipated hot air balloon sunrise in Luxor. and the company ended up in a bunch of contradictory and rediculous excuses to refuse refunds. The Star Balloon will promise you that you will be in the first flight. We repeatly checked about this even when the company called us to arrange the morning pickup time and location. Both flight will be picked up at 4am in the morning. You have to simply wait until they put the first flight of balloons into the sky and inflate the second batch of balloons for your ride. By that time the sun will be already high in the sky. The problem with this company is that you will not get what they promised to give you. We would love to pay more to secure a first flight. This company just want your money because they know it is a one time deal. If you come to Luxor and have a good expectation of watching the sunrise on the Nile in the hot air balloon like us, AVOID...
Read moreI booked this trip yesterday from my hotel reception during check in. The price is unbelievable reasonable for the hot air balloon ride and transfer from the hotel and back.
They were puntual when picking us up. We were taken to the river bank and put on felucca to cross the river. On the felucca we were offered refreshments. Once on the other side, we were shuttle to the balloon site.
The guide explained safety measures very well and there was no prolonged downtime.
The ride itself was expectacular and relaxing.
After landing, the balloon cought some strong wind and slowly tip us over. However, there was no danger. The pilot, Mano, had told us how to brace for landing and talked to us through the whole thing.A huge ground crew arrived on site in minutes.
We were then shuttle back to the hotel or in my case I stay on the Valley of the King for a...
