Ame is a fantastic new addition to the Old Town of Tallinn, offering delicious food in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We dined there on Saturday, March 8th, and were highly impressed by the flavors and quality of the dishes.
However, for a restaurant of this price point and one referenced in the Michelin Guide, the service was disappointingly mediocre. Our waitress, who was not a trainee, appeared to have received no formal training and seemed completely unprepared for the role.
Several service issues impacted our experience: Our party of five received our meals at different times, with a five-minute gap between the first and last dish being served. The plates were cold, causing the food to be lukewarm upon arrival. Empty plates from previous courses were not cleared before the main dishes were served, leaving us to rearrange the table ourselves to make space. The correct number of silverware was not provided. We were only given two menus for five people, which was inconvenient and unnecessary. While these may seem like minor details, they are essential elements of a fine dining experience. If the restaurant aims to uphold the standards expected at this level, proper staff training is crucial. It was by far the worst service we have received in Tallinn to date.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Ame and trying their new menu, and it was an experience worth raving about. From start to finish, the dishes were beautifully prepared, full of creativity, and bursting with flavor.
I began with the duck liver pâté, which was silky, rich, and perfectly balanced with its accompaniments. Next came the Jerusalem root tartar, a refreshing and earthy take that impressed me with both texture and depth of flavor.
For the main course, I enjoyed the beef petit tender with root trio—the beef was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, complemented wonderfully by the variety of roots that added both sweetness and heartiness to the dish.
To finish, I indulged in the Bueno dessert, which was simply delightful: light, decadent, and a perfectly sweet ending to the meal.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Ame was warm and elegant, and the service attentive without being overbearing. Overall, this new menu shows that Ame continues to push boundaries while staying true to quality and taste. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates refined,...
Read moreÂme is a hidden gem! The food was simply amazing. Honestly. Everything we had was cooked and prepared to essentially perfection. We ended up having another appetiser (black truffle profiteroles with Comte cheese) after having had dessert! It was that good.
The service was swift, polite and professional. Amazing wine selection and great recommendations by our waitress, Birgit, who was knowledgeable and very helpful.
