Most terrible experience for many years !
Only good thing about this place is location (you can always fix your mood visiting any other place nearby which 100% will be better than that one).
Now about bad things:
Service is unbelievably bad. Worse experience in my whole life. Waitress just roaming around the place trying to test her luck in guessing which order she is carry in her hands. Quite funny actually. She just came to random table and starting to put food / drinks and look at visitors reaction. Ones they raise hands and tell it's not their order she go to the next table with same approach :D
You will wait for your order almost forever. It took 45 minutes to make one crape with chicken and cheese, seriously. But you will not be surprised if you take a look on their open kitchen and what they are busy with there. Almost whole personal is trying to understand what they need to done next starring on checks people purchased. Its a complete mess.
Food quality!!! Aweful.... I have been real hungry that day. But still I wasn't able to finish that crape... Btw, it wasn't chicken inside. It was anything but chicken. In fact that was the cheapest "ham" you can find in some local store, tasted aweful and there were some non-chewable pieces of something. Funny fact it was saying "double cheese" on that crappe description...In fact it was soooo small portion of cheese so I am wondering about the "single cheese" version :D
Actually while I have been writing this review I found one more good point to visit this place - If you enjoy visiting circus, you gonna love this place. Just go there buy something in a bottle so only thing they need is to open it for you and ENJOY THE SHOW ! Because it is increadibly fun to look on how they work there ! That is only reason we waited for my ordrer for these 45 minutes. I mean it looks like they filming some comedy tv series about kitchen!
So extremely advice to visit if you big fun of comedy shows, circus and such things.
For food and service - please no, any...
Read moreWe came to have breakfast on the Day of Restoration of Estonian Independence. We were attracted by the updated menu - it means it's time to hurry to meet a delicious breakfast. We ordered potato pancakes with trout, tartine with burrata. As drinks, latte and americano.
I would like to express special thanks to the barista: he knows a lot about making coffee. The drinks turned out strong, whole and aromatic. Fresh beans of good quality are used, even the americano without sugar did not taste bitter and did not leave an unpleasant aftertaste.
Tartine with burrata is well suited for fans of vegetarian cuisine who are looking for a light breakfast. Delicious, fresh, homemade burrata, a generous portion of greens and soft, fluffy tartine create an ideal symphony of taste.
To my pleasant surprise, the potato pancakes turned out to be made not from mashed potatoes, but from grated potatoes. Because of this, the characteristic texture is clearly felt, which evokes the feeling of home cooking. The fish of their own salting is also incredibly tasty, the slices are thick and generous. A perfectly cooked poached egg: it flows like a perfect waterfall onto the potato pancakes. But, unfortunately, the overall good impression was spoiled by an unpleasant surprise: a small curly hair was hiding inside the potato pancake.
The waitress offered a 10% discount to compensate for this misunderstanding, but it was decided to return the dish to the kitchen and remove it from the bill.
Instead, we ordered a croque monsieur sandwich. The delicious, fluffy tartine has a very satisfying filling: baked parmesan on top, an abyss of cheddar cheese inside. A small nuance that I would like to change is to offer a choice between sliced baked pork and the ham slices that are currently in the dish. I think the dish could have sparkled with different colors and revealed itself in a...
Read moreEdit / We were offered a meal on the house a few days later and received excellent service this time and the food was much better (particularly the Nutella crepe)! Also special shout-out to Dmitri who was very apologetic and friendly. I hope the cafe has taken on board our feedback from before but I think the situation has been rectified for us. Thank you!
Original review: I had high expectations coming here as the menu looked fantastic and the cafe is very beautifully laid out. However, the service we received was without a doubt some of the worst I’ve experienced over the month I’ve spent in tallinn. We were told the food would take 40 minutes after waiting 15 minutes to order at the till in the first place. Although it was a long time I was prepared to wait because the food looked good and I have the utmost sympathy for restaurants when they’re understaffed having been in that situation many times myself! My first friends food did arrive about 40 minutes later as promised. However, mine arrived around 10 minutes after that, at which time she was almost finished. The food was average at best and the eggs were cold when they arrived. To make matters worse my other 2 friends had still not received their food and waited a further 30 minutes. After waiting an hour and 20 minutes in total, my friend went up to complain only to be met with a blank response from the members of staff who begrudgingly gave her a refund and a luke warm apology whilst she STILL never received the food. To top it off, this place was not cheap either. The iced coffee was 6 euros! I’d be shocked by that price in London or Paris let alone Tallinn! There seem to be many reviews similar to mine but the manager clearly doesn’t listen to the feedback given. Maybe try taking these reviews seriously if you care about this cafes reputation at all. Absolutely do...
