Firstly I have given service 4 stars. To be honest the service time was not very good but I put that down to the management. The service was slow but that was rthrough no fault of the lady serving. It's because the management had one person serving both the bar and the restaurant on a Sunday lunch. The lady serving was lovely and very friendly and professional. She was working so hard running backwards and forward to the bar to service standing customers who were drinking and then running to both the kitchen and the restaurant area to deliver food and to take orders. She is what one would describe as a superstar.
Now the food.... I have eaten at this establishment three times now.... The food somewhat lacks everything from flavor to presentation to quality. They pride themselves on British/Irish Sunday lunches. The likes of Roast Beef with all the trimmings OR Fish & Chips. The roast beef they serve can only be cooked very well done. If I am paying close to €20.00 for a roast, I want it cooked medium or even medium rare. (I used to be a chef in my early years and serving a Sunday roast is so easy, you can serve part medium and part well done.) Admittedly it's not like cooking a steak for individuals but please don't sell me meat which resembles the leather soles of my shoes. This roast dinner could be so much better. This last visit I decided to go for the Fish an chips. Not much better, sorry. I would find yourself a new chef who can actually cook and perhaps put more staff on the floor so that customers don't need to go to the bar to ask for an...
Read moreWe went on a Sunday evening, when it was not particularly busy. Key points: We had a warm welcome and the waitress spoke excellent English. We did not have to wait long for our main course. I had the Sunday roast and it looked delicious. Most of it was delicious, but the problem was it was only lukewarm. In fact, the yorkshires were cold. I did not send it back or mention it, as I did not see the point. Unfortunately, the service completely declined after this. We had to wait about 20mins for our empty plates to be taken away. We then asked for the dessert menus, and then had to wait for over 10 minutes for our order to be taken. The waitress was not busy serving other people, and on the occasions she was, it was not in any order of service. If my husband had not wanted a dessert here, we...
Read moreIf you’re craving a warm, familiar atmosphere in the heart of Tallinn, this Irish pub hits the mark. Nestled in the Old Town, it blends Irish charm with Estonian hospitality. Wooden interiors, low lighting, and live music give it an authentic, cosy feel—perfect for escaping the chill outside.
The Guinness is properly poured (which isn’t always a given abroad), and the selection of Irish whiskeys is impressive. The menu offers hearty pub fare—think fish & chips, shepherd’s pie, and some local twists. Portions are generous and prices are fair for a tourist-friendly area.
What really stands out is the atmosphere: friendly staff, a mix of locals and travelers, and often a live band or sports on the screen. Great spot for a casual pint, some banter, or a bit of home-away-from-home if...
