Viru Burger x Hobujaama — Restaurant in Tallinn

Tried out Viru Burger, a popular burger joint in town, and ordered two burgers - a classic cheeseburger and a Sloppy burger. The packaging was impressive and the burgers arrived warm, but unfortunately, the taste didn't quite live up to the hype.

The burgers were noticeably greasy and lacked any standout flavors. The meat was a bit dry and didn't taste particularly fresh, which led me to wonder if it had been overcooked. The bun however was amazing, but I myself like it more crispy than they've got. The sauces aren't anything special. While some people might enjoy the greasy taste, it just wasn't for me, as it felt a bit too American in style.

Overall, I can't say that I was particularly impressed with Viru Burger. While the packaging and the buns were top-notch, the burgers themselves fell short in terms of flavor and freshness. Yet again another hyped up place. To me it's interesting, because a lot of the places that are near this neighbourhood are hyped up and live up to it. This place was my biggest culinary disappointment in 2020. Homemade fries - a portion of approximately 130-150 grams of fries for 5, yes FIVE, euros. If I am paying that much for fries then I either expect a huge portion or at least excellent quality. The fries were soggy as heck and felt like they were seasoned with some generic flavor mix. Burgers were alright, not good and definitely not worth almost 9 euros. The beef was a bit dry and tasted a bit old, the slice of cheese on top was close to non-existent. It is like Uulits all over again - yes, Uulits used to be really good. But now more in detail about Viru Burger. Their burgers are tasty while while each of their burger has its own original approach. Have ordered multiple times over longer period of time - the quality of burgers has been there since day 1.
