Möku — Restaurant in Tartu linn

This had been my favorite pub in Tartu until the last day I visited this pub before leaving Tartu. I wish there was an option for giving 0 stars and here's why. Being a brown skinned person, after 4 years of living in Tartu, I was treated with the most illogical behaviour and well, of course racism. After getting some fries from the van right outside Mõku and getting back to the pub (we had prior to this, asked the security if we're allowed inside the bar with the fries, to which they had affirmed positively), however, the security very strongly denied my entrance in the pub despite my beer being inside the pub, alongside my husband and friends who were waiting inside for me. Despite trying to make the guy understand the logic, he still kept denying my entrance and he was actually so "stupid" that he agreed to taking the drinks with the glasses outside the pub. Wait what? This was not the only thing that happened. Two other Estonian guys , instead of supporting the logic, actually mocked at me saying i couldn't get inside that pub and even though i couldn't get inside the pub, at least I could get my husband back from the pub who had been waiting inside for me.

In sum, this was a horrific incident for me. Of course it was not only a very illogical behaviour from Mõku , but also indicates a good amount of racism from three Estonian men (together with the security) . Quite a shame!

P.S. This is coming from a lady who has resided in EU for last 8 years and has never been subjected to any such...

Went here on a whim earlier this evening. Was midway through a movie and some classmates announced that they were at Moku for a drink. Needless to say, I'm glad I chose to join and not the alternative which would have to been to finish binging the newest season of King of the Hill while devouring an XL bag of sour gummy worms.

The place really has the concept of atmosphere down, offering an abundance of outdoor and indoor cozy / aesthetic spots to plant your keister and enjoy something boozy or virgin.

I had two of the beers, one from Latvia and the other from an Estonia brewery. A more astute guy would remember the names, but all I can say is they were delightful.

The bartender was great, answering all my half-cocked questions with courtesy geniality.

Loved the murals that adorn the exterior and interior.

Only managed to capture one, as it's a mantra that's proven itself useful to me over the years.

Will definitely be returning next time...

We ordered burgers and and after we paid but before they arrived someone came to our table and said “there is a party and you should either pay for a ticket or leave now”. We told them we were waiting to eat and they came back 10 minutes later saying the same (burgers still hadn’t arrived) 10 more minutes after a guy showed up and rudely said that “waiting to eat is no longer an option” and that “we must leave right now”.
