Grotesk Helsinki — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

We flew to Helsinki from another city. The table was booked on tableonline.fi at 21:00. The flight arrived at 20:05. Seems like enough time? Seeing that there was not too much time, we did not checking in into the hotel room, left things at the reception and rushed to dinner. We were late. For 17 minutes. The security guy at the entrance said that the kitchen is already closed, but if you want, ask stuff at the bar. Lady listened us, did not condescend to answer us, and went about her business. Another lady listened too and began to scold me, saying that in case of delay I had to call. What can I say... Probably, visitors who have reserved a table at 21:00 should decide on an order within a minute and within next minute kitchen will coock it to close by 21:17 ... Even if in this restaurant last orders are made in this way, this is not a reason to treat with such disdain and arrogance towards...

Great restaurant! We had a cocktail first in the cocktail bar - it was good, but very small for the price. But the bar is a nice place. Then we had dinner in the meat bar. It's an amazing place in an old building and has an acutal meat bar where you can see the meat hanging. So we had starters, which were very good, dried aged angus steak (also very good) and the Tarte Tatin (yummy). All the food is placed in the middle of the table so everyone can try everything - I like that. The staff was very friendy and nice. Unfortunately, I cannnot give 5 stars, because the restaurant serves foie gras mousse, which should not be served anywhere so that the suffering of animals to produce it will finally stop. I hope the restaurant will take it off the menu. I would definetly recommend the restaurant for everyone who enjoys...

This review is about the terrace. Last I've been there was many years ago. Back then it was a beautiful italian style inner yard terrace (pergolas with vines growing on them). Now it has become this two-level tecno hell with repetitive music (you don't even notice if the track changes), too crowded, way too expensive drinks (you buy a nice beer for 9 euros and they don't even serve it in glass, drinks cost 13-14 euros). Only lighting is the disco lights so you struggle to read the drink menu on the shadowy back wall of the bar. We also saw many people take drugs and also saw some weird secret money exchange at the toilets where a customer gave money secretly to the toilet assistant lady whose only job seemed to be to point arriving people to free...
