I'm familiar with the concept of 'speakeasy' bars, however the attitude towards us, especially me, was beyond rude tonight.. I was following two senior gentlemen completely absentmindedly when the lady stormed through the door and pushed me back out.. She LITERALLY pushed me and no matter what you say or how you defend yourself, that is NOT how you treat your potential customers.. All I wanted was to have couple of drinks in a cozy atmosphere and my night was ruined before it started.. While she was pushing those men out, I made it clear that I wasn't with them and couldn't understand what she was saying as I'm a foreigner to the language.. She didn't even bother to say sorry or try to explain what was going on.. Those two gentlemen explained afterwards that phones were not allowed and because I was using Apple Maps to find the bar and holding my phone in my hand as I walked in, apparently I 'broke' a secret rule and was doomed eternally! I don't care what your concept is or how cool you believe you are, as long as you mistreat people like you did tonight, you'll be missing a lot..
Edit: I was not gonna pay attention but you truly deserve all the drama lady.. I was with my boyfriend as I walked in behind those gentlemen who kept the door open for me, which gives me the impression of NOT sneaking in as you mentioned.. And once again, it was not you, but the very same people who explained what was going on.. Just because I was holding my phone, it doesn't mean I was using it but obviously you cannot tell the difference.. No worries, I found another place with very nice crew who would love to help people weather they are their 'potential' or 'real' customers.. Your answer explains where you stand as you call me a hysterical drama queen and I don't think I need to say more.. Enjoy...
Read moreWon’t return. Nice cozy place, decent cocktails (17.5e), however the service is lacking. They have a no-phone policy which is okay. But one of the staff members grabbed another customer’s phone away immediately when they walked in, the customer wasn’t even really aware of the rules. The staff member was pretty rude and didn’t give a chance for the customer to get the phone back, he locked it away. Also, I always pay with Apple Pay and can’t remember my PIN codes. So upon leaving, I needed to check my pin on my phone in order to pay by card (they don’t accept contactless or mobile pay!!). This guy kicked up a fuss and kicked me out of the bar, explaining how I really can’t use my phone inside. I needed to go outside of the bar to quickly check my pin. Then I had to ring the door bell, return to the table and pay. The power really had gone to this guys head but he had no legal right to grab peoples phones away. Rude is still rude, no matter how cool or alternative you try to be. (If you go through their responses to other slightly negative reviews you see how defensive they get, never apologizing or admitting to any wrongdoing, a clear sign of arrogance, avoid, there are...
Read morePreviously I had written a review that probably this place has the worst customer service in Helsinki. Just ran into another review on Tripadvisor. Below you can find how they replied to that review on Tripadvisor. I rest my case about the behavioral issues of the owners. Really interesting.
Reply of the bar to a review: "Hi! I was trying to tell you that our flowers don't smell (tuoksuton neilikka on allergia ja astmaliiton suosittelema kukka) and I tought that the smell that I also smelled was some ones parfume. I tried to talk to you as people normally talk to each otehr. But for you it was more important that you have to feel special and make mee feel that I'm wotrhless and I should follow all your orders thought there was no real reason. After you left I found out what the smell was, table next to you had some Christmas gifts including centenced candels + big bucket of smelly flowers. We could have just removed their gifts to our back room, but you felt more important to make drama. Hope that you learn to behave better in the future with people in customer service and listen when someone is trying to tell you that you are not...
