I came to the restaurant with my friends (4 people) on April 7, 2022. The lunch menu fit on an A4 page: several salads, about 3 types of pizza, 3 other dishes. Of the three types of dessert: sorbent, ice cream and tiramisu. Each dish was paid separately. I ordered pasta, tiramisu, coffee and it cost about 23e. I would like to talk about the service. We booked a table near the window in advance. When we arrived, the receptionist checked our booking and took us the other way, completely ignored our information, didn't even answer us. We had the impression that she did not speak Finnish. I note that at 11 am there were few visitors and most of the tables were free, including several tables near the window. It was hard to get the waiter's attention. To order dessert, we waited about 15 minutes until the waiter "noted" us. We waited about 20 minutes until it was possible to pay for the order. My friends and I couldn't focus on our conversation because we were constantly trying to catch the waiter's eye and get his attention. I had to wave my arms to get the waiter's attention. One of the waiters had a sense of humor and waved back at me. At the same time, the waiters could stand 3 meters from us, 2-3 people together, passed close behind our chairs, but they did not react to the words “please, excuse me.” In the end, I put my palms to my lips and shouted "Hei!" Then two people approached us at once and we had the opportunity to announce that we were ready to pay our bill. I want to say that my friends and I met together to spend time with our friend, whose mother recently died. We wanted to support our friend with our joint meal in a difficult time for her. When we entered, we were indeed impressed with the interior – it was beautifully designed and cozy. However, our experience quickly took a disappointing turn.
We asked a staff member to seat us at a table with a nearby power outlet so we could charge our phones, as they were nearly dead. The staff member, a young woman, replied curtly that no such table was available. I glanced around the restaurant, which was almost empty, and noticed a table that clearly had an outlet nearby. I pointed it out and politely requested to be seated there.
She seemed more interested in chatting with her colleagues than assisting us. Her response was dismissive, repeating that no such table existed. When I pointed directly at the table with the outlet, she rolled her eyes, gave us a contemptuous look, and practically tossed the menu onto the table, saying, “Sit there, then.”
My wife and I exchanged a look, and it became immediately clear that we didn’t want to stay in a place where such unprofessional behavior was tolerated. We left without ordering.
I urge the restaurant’s management and owners to pay closer attention to the hiring and training of their staff. While the venue itself is lovely, the experience was ruined by poor customer service.
