Restaurant Pontus — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

I'd heard good things about this place and so perhaps my expectations were a little high. Unfortunately I didn't find it very special at all.

Our table tried the vegan lasagne, the meat lasagne, and a pizza. Vegan lasagne was actually quite tasty, but it had no texture - it was just one big mushy pile. It would have been nice if there had been some meat substitute or at least vegetables inside. The meat lasagne was hot on the outside but only lukewarm in the centre. The pizza was only so-so taste-wise, even if it looks pretty good. Service was fine, table and seating felt a little tight.

We had a board dish for starter, a pizza and a risotto at Pontus on Sunday evening. Service is way too slow. We made an order around 7.45pm, the starter came out around 8.15 and the main dishes came out at 8.50. The board dish was so underwhelming for the price and the pizza arrived way too cold. They must have made the pizza at least 30 minutes before serving us and forgot about it (or let it stay in the kitchen way too long to serve it with the risotto). I couldn't believe they served such a cold pizza at the restaurant. Staff was very friendly, but the place seemed to need more staff to offer better quality service.I...

Unremarkable describes this location best. We were convinced to go in by a local drinking on the patio when reading the outdoor menu. Unfortunately, their hype did not live up to expectations.

If you're interested in €16.00 three-day old reheated lasagna that was scalding hot on the outside and stone cold in the middle with texture of sticky mush, then by all means, enjoy.
