Ozaki Teppanyaki Sampokeskus — Restaurant in Rovaniemi sub-region

My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing and harmful. When paying my bill, which totaled approximately 75 euros, the restaurant charged me five times, claiming my card had not been approved. However, upon checking my bank statement, I found that all transactions were approved, meaning they had received the payment multiple times.

When I questioned the situation, the staff and owner showed complete disrespect. Most of them didn’t speak English or Finnish, and the only one who understood anything openly mocked the situation. When I threatened to call the police, the staff claimed they would call themselves but instead brought a shopping mall security guard, who also seemed to act in collusion with the restaurant.

Despite presenting my bank statement as clear proof of the charges, the restaurant refused to provide any receipt or evidence that the transactions had failed. The security guard, who was clearly biased, decided to believe the restaurant without demanding any evidence from them, forcing me to pay the bill again in cash.

After reading so many reviews, I decided to try in person. I would say, it’s 85% of Chinese food, 10% Thai and 5%Japanese. The staff speak Chinese though If you’re an Asian that feels freezing cold and needs some warm food, I would say it probably meets the need. The buffet is priced somewhat above the usual at ~25 euros on weekends. The quality of the food is very good, especially the teppanyaki. Soft drinks are not included, which felt cheap. We are also somewhat concerned about the allegations of fraud, and as per usual in Chinese restaurants, the service is quite detached.
