Restaurant Il Gusto at Résidence l’Oxalys in Val Thorens, France, offers an exceptional dining experience in a cozy and beautiful setting. We celebrated a birthday here, and it was truly a memorable occasion. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a special celebration. The restaurant’s ambiance is a charming blend of contemporary elegance and alpine coziness, making it an ideal place to enjoy a relaxed meal after a day on the slopes.
The food at Il Gusto is outstanding. The menu features a range of dishes that highlight fresh, local ingredients, with a focus on both traditional French and innovative cuisine. Each course was beautifully presented, and the flavors were impeccable. From the starters to the main courses and desserts, everything was perfectly prepared. The wine selection was also excellent, complementing the food choices with a variety of local and international wines that enhanced the overall dining experience.
The service was attentive and professional, with the staff going out of their way to ensure that our celebration was a success. The warmth of the staff, combined with the comfortable, stylish decor, made the evening even more special.

Read moreTruly awful experience, food was terrible, server couldn’t be less interested. Firstly when we arrived we were eventually sat after about 10 minutes of waiting (restaurant at this point was empty) once sat we waiting a further 20 minutes for menus and anyone to acknowledge us. My wife ordered the croque monsieur and the boa buns, i ordered the gusto pizza, my wife’s food was dry and tasteless. Croque was just 2 slices of white white bread with a slice of ham and cheese inside and cut into triangles. Boa buns looked like shop bought chicken inside a dry bought in boa bun with a drizzle of greasy looking yellow sauce. I sent this back when it arrived as it truly looked awful. My pizza was cremated, black at the bottom and raw on top. Tbh i can live with a slightly charred pizza however it had lots of hard lumps of carbon stuck to the bottom. As someone who owns 3 pizza restaurants I’m aware the carbon build up in the oven is due to a lack of cleaning. When i told the server about the pizza he just struggled his shoulder and walked away as if we were just being difficult. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner in val thorens and this is the only bad experience we had. If you’re looking for Italian style food visit rendezvous near the magic carpet although it’s more expensive its way better quality...
Read moreGreat restaurant both for French food and for pizzas! We came to this place three times during our vacation, we ordered many dishes and none of them disappointed us, every thing was super tasty, and we e didn’t have to wait long for each corse(comparing to the rest of the restaurants we ate in here in Val Thorens). The staff are super nice and helpful, and had very good recommendations. Their pizzas are really good (almost like in some parts of Italy). The duck is amazing!! (For duck lovers) And they had Lemon pie😍 which was really good, and for which we were looking for in every restaurant we visited here and couldn’t find. In conclusion, this is the best place here in Val Thorens, go and...
