My partner and I went to have breakfast at Moloko on a windy September morning. Thankfully we could sit inside. When we went in it was intimate and busy. Definitely a sign of its popularity. It was clear that the owners had had a busy morning and we were quickly moved to a table for two…perhaps a little brusquely that could lead one to feel just a little unwelcome. I’m sure it was an unintentional sign of having had a busy morning. The brunch menu was thoughtfully and carefully made simple and affordable, something could be found for everyone. It was easy to order and food came very quickly. I had the granola with yoghurt and fresh fruit. My partner had the Moloko pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. Both servings were a perfect size. The flavours did not need to be hidden by too generous a portion. They were more than present throughout the meal. Couples with fresh coffee it was scrumptious. In potential it is one of the best coffee places in Avignon, but right now the coffee is really bad (they need to improve the machines and baristas). Also the staff wasn’t really friendly. Although the full terrace was empty they didn’t want us to sit at a table for 4 people. They also didn’t serve food since I was 10 minutes too late. I get that isn’t ideal for them, but if they really want to be top-level they do have to improve. Only thing that’s keeping them on 3/5 stars right now...
