This restaurant is for those with average standards for food. The food is filling without being all that good. It is in a very touristique location, so they get lots of foot traffic, and the hotels like to send tourists who they think don't know food to this establishment. The beef Bourguignon was so salty, devoid of vegetables, and tasting more of uncooked wine than lovely beef. The wine list consists of either very cheap, average village wines, or truly expensive wines. There isn't much to choose from in between. The staff is nice but the general ambiance is of an average cafeteria downstairs. Beware of the smokers outside the door. When it opens, the entire downstairs reeks of cigarette smoke. If you get put at an upstairs table, you will be jammed against other diners in a very claustrophobic atmosphere. All in all, if you just want to fill a void in your stomach, take the chance and eat here. If you love good food, give this place...

for burgundy, the food is substandard. waitres attitude is very bad, they misunderstand that we can spend more if they were nice. beouf bourguignon was far below from my expectation. sweetbread was nice. waitres has no passion to serve, they give us totally cold and dry baguette compare to other table (somehow i feel excluded toward racism), we normally very generous giving tips by any standard, but not with them. i give one star for the location and second star for the sweetbread. they should aware client is the king, although we don’t demand so, but still we pay and deserve a proper attitude! give a room for your staff improvement in this very competitive market. we don’t mind about any kind of premium price to pay as long as to be...

The food is to die for! Their beef bourguignon was the best I have ever had in France or the USA. The beef was so tender and the sauce was thick and delicious. Their home made foie gras was light and creamy. The creme brûlée and rum baba cake was amazing and the whip cream was home made with vanilla bean. The restaurant was packed so they sat us at a table near the kitchen and the staff were enjoying themselves and dancing to the music while cooking excellent food. The chef would deliver the food himself when the wait staff got busy. They care about the experience of their customers and several waiters took care of us. Everyone was kind and very professional. This is my favorite...

Excellent restaurant for authentic Burgundian meal. Our B&B host reserved us a table, which was necessary even though early May is still considered the low season. We had escargots and roasted vegetables as appetizers. Both were good. The snails were very small compares to others we have had in France. Then for mains, the beef borguignon and sea bass were are choices. Both were wonderfully prepared and plated. The beef with vegetables was the best we had during our entire Burgundy visit. For dessert we had the French toast with Caramel and ice cream. Over the top, best dessert! Server was fun and spoke some English for us, which we appreciated. Highly recommend L'Ecrit Vin.

Great meal with one minor hickup. Poached egg wine sauce was crazy good; a meal unto itself. Quenelles main was fantastic and should be seriously considered. Beef with peppercorn sauce with potato was great with a slightly over cooked element ordering medium rare and getting more medium; for this dish it was not a material point as it was better with medium. Escargoe a safe go to at this place. Wine list is great and what we ordered it did not disappoint. Several dessert options but the reccommended Mille-Feuille was out of the world as they used carmel whipped cream rather than custard which made it to die for. Friendly neighbors sitting next to us closed out a great evening.
